So £8.7k per day, which is the only figure I have to go on numbers-wise. The Independent said that "any club that a player that has been registered with in the two years prior to the World Cup will be eligible for a share of the daily payout", so whether we only get a percentage of that £8.7k per day or the full whack is unclear. FIFA's official release on their Club Benefits programme makes it sound like the full whack.

The World Cup starts on 20th November, the earlier Australia can be eliminated from the tournament is 30th November, so at minimum that's 10 days which equates to £87,000 from Cummings. If somehow they ran the gamut to the final on 18th December, it'd go up to £243,600. The minimum £87k is far more realistic, obviously.

FIFA's official release also states that  "for each one of the days the relevant player remains with his national team during the FIFA World Cup 2022™ and the official preparation period", so with the prep period it could well reach over £100k at minimum.

The Independent also states, per FIFA, that "Clubs will be able to submit claims digitally for the first time"...

uh oh 😬

I read online that’s it’s 10 US Dollars per day from when the official World Cup preparation period starts. Not sure when that starts, might be as early as this coming Monday. Their last group match is December 1st and each club gets paid until the day after the players nation exits the tournament. Could be 9k per day because the arse has fell out of the economy here.

The club surely has the dough to strengthen the playing squad between this and the Ibrox cup ticket money.

Aye, $10k roughly translates to £8.7k, so hopefully we see some healthy cash for putting Cummings back on the map 😉

As for January, considering the hundreds of thousands extra being picked up it would be a shambles to have a transfer window resembling the summer one considering how badly we need a change-up after that nonsense.

A similar one to the 2021 January window wouldn't go amiss. Too bad we can't bring in Jason Cummings.

Watching Mrs TCM's Stoke City clinch 3 points tonight against former manager Nathan Jones' Luton Town.

However, the highlight of the evening was her reminder for me not to mention Cammy Kerr again on Friday night after having a couple of weekend drams.

Clock ticking, lol.

Kerr > Smith.

I genuinely think it's wild how big of a scapegoat he's been made out to be for years.  Is he Cafu?  Absolutely not.  Is he good enough for a Scottish Championship winning team?  Absolutely.  Is right back a position that needs strengthened when we go up?  Without a doubt.  But the boy has played under some of the worst humans that have ever lived in about 61 positions.  There's a lot worse players on our books than Cammy.

Ludo, I think it’s harsh the group of people that pick SPFL team of the week are trolling you!

Thought he played well on Saturday. Doesn't mean I think he's good enough to be in a top flight team.

Said before, I'm relatively happy with Cammy in the side whilst we are in the Championship due to there being bigger concerns ie, CH. There's worse than him in the squad but he shouldn't be getting a new deal if we get promoted.

ETA: I'd still take Grimshaw from Morton, McMillan from Partick, Musonda from Ayr (More natural at CH but played RB a lot for Raith) and probably Houston from Ayr too and Jason Naismith before he seemed to get crocked ahead of him though hence my lower half comment previously.

Great to read Cummings saying he's fallen back in love with football since moving to Austrailia. Also brilliant to see him that involved that he openly admits he started crying when he got the call up to the World Cup squad.

Good to see he missed the call because he was too busy sleeping in the afternoon.

Tbh there aren’t many in this league that are sticking out to me in terms of defenders. Maybe Milne of Partick and Raith have an 18 year old on loan that’s a big unit for his age and done quite well against us, he’s worth keeping an eye on. I did like the boy we got from Tottenham on loan last season tho.

If we got promoted how many of our squad are good enough for a step up? Keepers, nah. Marshall, nah, you’d keep a French although his ability up a level is untested. Centre Halves, nah. Midfield - obviously you’d keep Mulligan and Anderson, the rest, nah. Wide players, nah but you’d keep Cameron. Strikers, Robinson, the rest, nah.
Big re-building job required.

I'd certainly keep a few more than you have there but agree overall.

Major cull is required similar to when Hartley won the league.

Ages accurate as of 9/11/2022.

Currently the only players contracted for next season are Byrne, French and Rudden, with Byrne likely to have agreed some sort of pay-off if he does not convince Bowyer to bring him back into the fold this season.

I've always thought next season is the one which Bowyer should be judged on as he'll practically have a clean slate to work with in whatever division we're in, but tactically at least this season will have given us a strong idea of what to expect next year.

As for extensions Bowyer might look for, he'd be stupid not to get youth players like Mulligan and Anderson extended, and I can see him wanting to re-sign players like McGhee and McMullan who've been go-to players for him in a team he clearly isn't best pleased with. Personally would be appalled if Gowser didn't get his testimonial year, and there are a few more players like McCowan who I like and personally wouldn't mind returning.

Also, Cammy is definitely getting another extension, so just accept that.

Good chance the yanks don’t want us to go up this season for these reasons.
