Ludo*1
Based on Bowyer's post match comments, I don't think he's planning on taking the League Cup too seriously. Said he was disappointed he couldn't field some more trialists in it.

Boo Khaki
Personally I couldn't give a toss about the League Cup. It carries about the same degree of kudos and prestige as the Forfarshire Cup, but I accept it's potentially a good source of revenue if the club were to get to the latter stages. What's far more important is hitting the ground running in the league, and no repeat of McPake's regular 'finally figure it out in February' pish that was the hallmark of his time in charge. If Bowyer believes the LC cup games are about getting the squad match sharp and ready for game one of the Championship, then that's ok with me.

I personally would prefer winning the league cup than promotion. But let's face it, we are probably not going to win the cup but if given the option...

It comes across more at slight frustration about not getting more of a chance to try out the trialists in matches rather than a dismissive take about the importance of the game. Considering he's got just one more friendly to try trialists in, and it's a more tough opponent in Blackburn, he'll obviously have wanted them to get more game time, especially since they've only just started their trials. Wouldn't be shocked if they played in the game against Lochee United on the 20th or if we hear about bounce games to try and get them more up to speed with the team. I'm not as concerned as I was at first at least, should be taking any opportunity we can to batter Hamilton anyway. Pens_Dark
I don't see his comments made as playing down the league cup to be honest. The season starts ridiculously early in Scotland and this won't be something Bowyer is accustomed to so much. He needs to be sure on the trialists he is bringing in and fielding them in actual competitive games which are the best gauge he can get as to whether they are worth of a place in the team or not. Friendlies mean f**k all in the grand scheme of things except for playing time and fitness.
Pens_Dark
Also...that home kit gets better and better every time I see it. Could be the best in a good few years. Scotty Allan would look delicious in it.

RawB93
I can’t really explain it, but Gowzer looks like Minnie Mouse.
RossBFaeDundee
Per Bowyer: Max Anderson has been dealing with a groin niggle, should be fine and available for Saturday. Jordan McGhee dealing with a minor ankle injury, but nothing too concerning. No mention of any outside interest. Adam Legzdins has been given the green light to return to training, will hopefully be fully fit and available in a couple of weeks. Jay Chapman is still in North America due to paperwork issues, Bowyer has had discussions with him over his return. Seems we still fully expect him to be back.
