Ludo*1
I can now see the Gavin Strachan stuff being true. Not a chance a Jack Ross type would need help from Strachan.

Pretty much confirms we will be hiring some rookie, which is a fucking disaster waiting to happen again. Why do we go from one extreme to the other instead of just hiring an experienced manager?
Ludo*1
Gordon Strachan to be new Dundee director of football as ex-Celtic boss leads new manager hunt (thescottishsun.co.uk) He'll be in charge of the budget, will be in charge of recruitment and will be the one that appoints our next manager. Apparently it's made Jack Ross less interested in the job but it's also unlikely McGhee or Rusk will be kept on.

Charlie Adam then?

Agree with the above, plus another unsettling comment in the report was regarding the search for a new head coach. Head coach???!!!! The club requires a competent MANAGER, therefor no interference is required from Gordon Strachan. Concerned regards, and the season's not even ended. What part of, appoint Jack Ross as Club Manager, put your feet up, slap each other on the backs' in 12 months time does John Nelms not understand?

Don't think John nelms has a fucking clue about football full stop to be honest never mind can he get the manager appointment correct.
Day of the Lords
This has all the hallmarks of Nelms appointing some untested, inexperienced manager (again) and us fucking up the easiest second tier line up in the last 30 years. I am fully aware that it's not possible for obvious reasons, but if this is indeed Nelms's plan, he can f**k the f**k off and take Strachan with him.

At least he hasn’t let his ego get in the way of making decisions that he has no real experience of like Cormack up the road but entrusting them in such a renowned stubborn man isn’t a good thing either imo. I’m glad he’s staying at Dundee though as was expecting to end up at us again. Edited May 12 by gannonball

I mean, it'll be Strachan picking the manager now and not Nelms. So instead of someone with no football mind picking it, it's someone with a football mind that's 20 years out of date who is picking it.
johnnydun
I think Nelms has seen his own failings. He has done something that we have all asked for, and taken someone on to look after the football side and who knows the Scottish game. It's a tad unfortunate that this is Gordon Strachan.
locheedee
I've no idea if Strachan's work with the kids has been worthwhile but even if it had been, his part in us hiring Mark f*cking McGhee should have seen him launched in the sea along with McGhee and the Farley's Rusk

RossBFaeDundee
We've not even been relegated 24 hours and the club is finding new ways to make me hate it already. That's what I call 'commitment'.
