Phil Jagielka played 10 games in the English Premier League last season. Madness that anyone would discount him in favour of Ryan McGowan just because of his age. The experience he would bring to a relatively young team and certainly a defence that has shown in the past needs a commanding figure for a season would be massive even if the legs are gone.

If the legs are gone then there’s no point.

Why? Berra's (who's never been anywhere near Jagielka's level IMO) legs looked to have gone and still managed to turn our defence into a mean defensive machine.

Matt Lockwood was another. His legs were completely gone and then Bomber converted him to a sweeper (One of his few good tactical decisions) and he aced that position for a spell.

Berra wasn’t the quickest at turning but he was perfectly fine running in a straight line if you get what I mean.

Matt Lockwood is the prime example of getting found out big time in the Premier League because his legs were gone.

I'm surprised he is still a free agent. Unless he is asking for silly money. Plenty teams in England would take him for the experience he would bring.

Anyway it's a great rumour that's cracked some boredom.

Do we really need a 32-year old striker who doesn't score that many goals?

He’s scored roughly the same  career goals as Lafferty I think.

George Cran saying we may have a couple of young trialists on tomorrow vs Orient, not including Sheridan. I assume Panter will be one, but not aware of anyone else on trial, so that'll be interesting to monitor at least, even if they're more for the youth team.

Bolton refused to even take Jagielka on trial, btw. Have fun with that one.

In saying that he reeks of the experienced defender everyone says is done, only to spend a season cruising it.
