Adam has passed it lol.

Only thing been said spot on is he does like a yellow card every game.

I'm sure the point in Adam was we build around him. Obviously when you have an idiot in charge this hasn't happened and why our midfield has been a shambles just like the rest of the team for the majority of the season.

Correct. McPake is the problem. Not Charlie Adam.

Basically what Mr Alli has said.

You play Mullen over Cummings.... if we expected goals today we all know this was never going to the case. No surprise regarding the lack of shots on target

I can't remember us creating too many chances that Cummings would have been able to take advantage of tbf. Mullen didn't disgrace himself today.

ETA: Although, you're spot on. The tactics McPake deployed throughout the game were bizarre and counter productive.

Cummings is obviously injured. Anyone who things otherwise is miles off it.

100% this.

He isn't there for his running or defensive duties, he is there to create and organise on the pitch.

How many times does he give the ball away though. For every decent bit of play he has give the it away 5 or 6 times previously.

Why even risk him and bring him on for last little bit ? Especially if we managed to nick a goal ( yeah okay we probably had no chance of this ) and this went onto extra time

Because he’s obviously carrying a knock which meant he couldn’t play the full 90 but could come on if needed which is what happened. He’s not been dropped ffs.

It's like your talking about McGowan also. For every little turn he decides to do or every misplaced pass we are either in trouble or concede a goal.

You could say the same about McDaid, Anderson today, Mullen, McGowan....

Yes but at least they can run about when it’s not going well, Adam can’t do that. We play with 10 men when the other team has the ball.

So a Mcpake masterclass with his tactics again today by playing Mullen uptop on his own as we get 1 shot on target all game ... and that wasn't from anyone else bar a missed penalty..

You can’t play 442 with Adam in the team. Cummings was dropped to allow Byrne to play so Adam could be accommodated. Playing 1 up front means Mullen. The starting formation makes perfect sense when you try to build a team around Charlie Adam. I get he’s lost his mother and had COVID - he has all my sympathies but if he’s not mentally or physically fit he shouldn’t be playing.

Sorry, not having it. Yes, he doesn't track back very well, but in general his positional intelligence means he doesn't have to sprint to get to areas because he is already there. Otherwise games would just pass him by, but they don't, he is always at the centre of them.

That is awful to read. Mullen to lead our line? I know it's tough shit right now but you can't play him on his own.

Fair enough but you just have to look at the results since January of the games where he’s been in the team vs when he hasn’t.
