All things Dundee FC

How were we supposed to negotiate a sell-on clause for a player who had already agreed a pre-contract? Sevco would have simply told us to get bent, and if we'd insisted they'd have just waited for June and forgot about the 50k or so they did give us.

I don't really get the Dee permanent outrage at not getting whacking great chunks of money any time a former player moves on. Permitting release clauses etc is the only way players like Hemmings will agree to come to Dens. Perhaps if we were a constant top six Premiership side where we could offer a shot at Europa League football, the outside chance of a cup win etc, then we'd be in a stronger negotiating position.

It's as if forgoing the 50k and keeping our best player when in  a relegation scrap is a bad idea.

I'm not really sure there is. He could quite easily have chucked it due to the way he was treated. He uprooted his family moved them over here done absolutely nothing wrong and was then blown out the door for utter shambles of footballers like Martin Woods. Maybe he just got tired of football and went into "normal" life.

Edit : I remember reading here and TDB at the time and the amount of posters who ridiculed Kamara and Madianga and championed shite like Woods was astonishing. Two genuinely good technical footballers being out praised by one of the worst midfielders I've ever seen pull on the Dundee strip. Deserve everything we got for that whole 7/8 month period.

I’d almost forgotten about Martin Woods. Quite possibly my least favourite Dundee player of all time (honourable mention to “dead ball specialist” Tom Hateley). Hope he doesn’t google his name and offer me a fight via PM.

He'll be too busy "running the show" with Halifax Town in the English diddy leagues. Myself and a few other Dees tried to politely inform them of our opinions of him when he signed on Twitter, and they stopped people from replying. Snowflakes.

That does ring a bell. Absolute ringpiece of a man.

We’ve undoubtedly had worse players play for Dundee, but the entire Martin Woods sized package just rubs me up in a way that nobody else has ever done. There’s nothing wrong with being a limited footballer, and blame needs to sit with the “manager” for that signing, but his superstar, better than Dundee attitude was just something else.

For me the worst player is julen exawhatever or graham bayne, I didn’t mention any loaners as I don’t expect them to have the same passion or commitment for a club when the results good or bad barely effect them

Julen was absolutely nowhere near our worst player. In fact, I'd go as far to say that he is better than any of our current centre halves.

Patrick Noubissie, Darren Williams, Adam Cummins, Carlo Monti, Davide Grassi, Ross Chisholm, Stuart McCluskey and Eddie Mearns are all worse players to play for us than the names mentioned thus far. Get real lads.

Not one mention of Yordi Teijsse yet? Surely he is up there, fucking hopeless.

A quick wiki search shows he scored 37 goals in 40 games the season before he joined us. What on earth kind of standard was that he was playing?

Dutch third tier. Scored for a laugh there, came here and was abysmal, then went back to the Dutch third tier and continued scoring for a laugh. The epitome of 'found his level'.
