You are leaving yourself wide open here ludo.

Probably - but it's what I believe at this moment in time tbh. I've been wrong plenty of times in the past and will be plenty in the future, but at this very second I wouldn't swap our 3 for any of them 3. Of course I'd have a player like Brophy ahead of Nelson & Johnson, but the other two aren't as good etc is the point I'm making.

I do see where you coming from Ludo, but we are looking at it through Dark Blue tinted specs.

I would imagine that the majority of fans from the teams you have listed will take the complete opposite view.

I've posted this a few times to highlight how horrific he is. The first couple you can give him a pass for but the one against Kilmarnock in particular is horrendous. Needs addressing.

Dundee could have Messi and Ronaldo up front but their midfield don’t create anything and you have two of the worst defenders in the league in Cammy Kerr and Jordan Forster.  And the worst keeper in the league in Jack Hamilton.

Good luck getting promoted with them trying to stop goals.

Any managerial appointment at our level is a risk to a certain extent. Surely everybody knows that?

Of course it is.

But we have appointed a guy whose sole managerial experience was one game as caretaker, a game we got beat. We got the usual club nonsense of applications from all over Europe, casting the net high and wide, and yet we appointed a guy already at the club. It just looks like a lazy unambitious cheap appointment. Everyone knew Utd were big favourites for the league, had a settled squad and manager, where as we had to completely rebuild, thats a tough task for anyone, let alone a rookie.

McPake could, and I hope he does, go on and become a very good manager for us. However,  its a very tough job, and the results and performances have been poor so far. The best performance was against Aberdeen in the cup, and his changes almost certainly cost us the game.

I doubt anyone wants him sacked, but equally realism is needed. People saying they trust McPake are just being daft IMO, he hasnt earned any trust or respect so far. People were saying McCann will get it right, trust him, some were saying McIntyre might be a cnt, but he has done it before, trust him. As I said before, trust is earned, not just given.

Dundee fans are not the most forgiving, if we continue to struggle in the league, then McPake will become a target. We need to string a run of wins, with several goals scored, and an identifiable system to our team, because so far, we don't have a style of play.

At the risk of banging on about Jack Hamilton being shite, he really is shite. The amount of times I've seen balls go straight through him is ridiculous. The guy has rubber wrists.

Genuinely terrible keeper, but McPake looks like he is sticking with him sadly.

Our goalkeeper saved 1 shot in the whole match, let that sink in. He’s priority number 1 to replace. I’m not sure he even came and collected a cross all game either. A complete liability.

Yeah he’s had a few clean sheets this season but he’s had next to nothing to do in those games. The Dunfermline game is better not to get mentioned as well.

Yeah, I have to say the guy doesn't look up to much. Was willing to give him a chance, but I can't really think of a single aspect of his game which impresses.

So as a Dundee fan what do we say anytime a manager comes in? WE gotta try believe he is going to do something good. I think we have been shite. 1 win in last 4 and really we have struggled overall.  Whats the way forward?
We heard boos already in the last home game, quite pathetic but with our fans this isn't surprising.
Just feels we have an alright team ( i think so) but playing as a team we are poor.
3 decent strikers
Midfield is so so but a few decent individuals
Defence is weak
Goalkeeper , less said the better

Have to say I totally agree with you. No time for knicker wetting. Let’s see where we are at Christmas.

If we don’t pump Elgin though I’ll be screaming for McPake’s head.

It's not just McPake on his own though, is it? He's backed up by a lot of good experience in Nicholl and maybe Strachan.
