Never want to hear moans about sharps kicking again after that today , I appreciate the wind was bad so why did he keep kicking the ball to his right in the first half when it was obvious the wind was gonna take the ball straight out of play , so after today and also his attempt to save that overhead kick on Tuesday night I’m seriously hoping Sharp is back between the sticks on Saturday

Not sure about this, not the kicking obviously, but the fact that all our players crowded toward the main stand side showed it was the manager's instruction. Bowyer should have spotted this straight away and given another instruction.

That doesn’t stop him from putting the ball closer to the left of the goal before taking the kick.

Sam Fisher doing well for Dunfermline, maybe should've been given him his chance here?

Only made his first start on Saturday there. Played a total of 8 minutes until that point.

Need to see more from him if he wants a new contract for next season whilst we punt some of the actual wasters in the squad.

So were we as bad as it sounds?

How much was down to the players?

How much was down to the manager's selections, formation and tactics?

Just picking up on stuff from yesterday.

It was worse than it sounds. Fuckwit tactics of launching it into the wind at Gayfield is beyond belief.

Players are clueless. Like mentioned before, launching it into the wind 1st half then on the deck 2nd half with only 1 attempt from distance which was utterly pish from Marshall. This is after Linn scored a freekick from 35-40 yards with the wind behind him.

100% on the manager. Incredible decision making to 1st of all play McGhee in midfield, then to pair him with Grayson, then to leave the pair of them on for the entire 90 minutes was just absolutely shite management.

For what it’s worth I thought Rudden was worse than Sheridan. That chance he missed in the 2nd half after scoring a good headed goal 1st half is incredible.

At no point did I think we were going to lose yesterday but for the 2nd game running the manager’s performance was worse than anything seen on the park.

The League Cup section saw us playing well with the important bits being Byrne picking the ball up from the defence and getting it into Gowser etc. McGinn, Gowser and Mulligan playing just in behind Jakubiak who had actually taken a game then those 3’s movement causing all sorts of problems. Those tactics got binned at halftime v Partick and never to be seen since.

Right now Bowyer gives me the fear but he’s playing mostly hamstrung by McPake’s f**k ups. Fucking crazy decision to give McPake the manager’s job.

Not really, imo, keep it fucking simple like that, there's players on the sidelines to cover every position as well, should you get injuries/off form/suspensions etc

In short, f**k off with the stupid tinkering Bowyer, and stop playing your mates, when they're playing shite.

Thank you.

100% we should keep it simple.  Too many managers over complicate things leaving most players not understanding the manager or being simply unable to do what is asked of them.  A fighting spirit with everyone playing in their best position, knowing week in week out what is expected of them, will get us back up this league.

Players play at the level we are currently at because they are relatively speaking usually not that technically gifted and almost certainly  not versatile.  I know people that are not professional players routinely argue that players should be able to play in a number of positions equally well.  That’s simply not how it works at this level.

Sounds harsh but before anyone gets angry or annoyed ask yourself this - with the exception of our youth players, who is interesting clubs at a higher level?

Speaking of our youth players, other than Cameron none of them having been doing enough to deserve the hype we give them. Mulligan & Anderson especially need to find some form because those two are crucial to us having a good season.

Agreed, Mulligan and Anderson have both gone off the boil.  Is it a case of Bowyer not getting the best out of them?  Playing them in wrong position / wrong tactics?  I THINK / HOPE that may be what’s happening, particularly with regards to Mulligan.

I tend not to watch international matches but has Mulligan not been doing quite well at the U21 (?) level?
