Feels like this season is going to be a slog and January window is notoriously pish for players. I’d give him next summer as well even if we don’t go up. It feels like the board don’t want promotion this year seeing as they blamed last years relegation by being in the top flight too soon. There are times that we look pretty decent, even last week at Ayr we looked fine until the goals went in and we now have Ashcroft back who is more than capable at this level. I think we should be competing come January, I can still see lots of teams taking points of each other with no runaway leader. In truth I think McCowan going off had a big impact and then McGowan being subbed changed it even further. You had nothing left in midfield and once we got a foothold we just ran over the top of you. If you can get Ashcroft in for that big haddy Sweeney and keep Rudden, McCowan and McGowan fit then you’ll still be in the mix come January. Pens_Dark Posted September 2, 2022 Share Posted September 2, 2022 (edited) I thought the squad was largely good enough, with the right signings in particular areas, to go back up but Bowyer all summer has talked about getting new faces in the door with the days coming up to the deadline saying he needed a fair number in. I think I remember him saying 4? I'm all for not bringing in players just for the sake of it but when the manager is telling you where team needs strengthened... Just the usual pulled up with no one near him at the Raith game If I recall correctly. Another gripe with the club is there doesn’t appear to be much in the way of any info about what injury the players have, how their recoveries going and where the f**k the likes if Chapman is.
