I don't think it's cowardly, he has probably said it to his team mates faces too.

Saying it behind closed doors is fine.

Saying it in public is just trying to win brownie points with fans, it achieves nothing with his team mates.

It's cowardly to be coming out with that pish.

Just an easy way to escape fan criticism and shift it entirely onto his team mates. "WEE GOWZER CARES!!" as you slump to another defeat, while those around him get hounded.

Doing these things publicly helps nobody except the person making the statement.

It's not cowardly at all.

This, as long as he's said it to them and plans to lead by example there is f**k all wrong with telling folk home truths.

'Cowardly'? Holy overreaction, Batman.

Gowser savaging his teammates in the press is an annual ritual at Dens, and there is no doubt he has told them all how he feels inside the changing room. In fact, he's usually saying it to them on the pitch during a game. Gowser has been very quiet and subdued lately during games and it was always going to boil over into the press with each loss piling up.

He picks his spot when to 'lose it' in the press and what this tells you is how desperate things are that McGowan felt it was time to pull the trigger on his annual rant. Sometimes he gets a wee reaction out of it and sometimes he doesn't. This 'outburst' is simply a guy grasping at straws trying to give us a jolt when he knows we're an utter mess.

It is. Its just playing to the gallery and he knows it.

Slaughter them in the dressing room, motivate them on the pitch, don't go squealing to a journalist making out you're the only one who cares and is putting the effort in.

Does Gowser criticise McPake in this article?

No he dosnt.

Usual McGowan. He is part of this shite ( granted he says this) but still its all just bullshit. I dont take notice of what gets said in media regarding our performances. Actions speak louder.

Exactly this. It’s the sort of transparent shite that only works on gullible fans. Anyone lapping up that sort of pish is a genuine idiot. The grown adult fan who still has Dundee duvet covers.

Are Dundee doing duvet covers?

That's the missus birthday sorted.

McPake using his tactic of getting Gowser to say the tough stuff to his players in the media cos he can't do it himself in the dressing room, maybe turning into my least favourite habit of his, besides the constant losing of course.

If you read what McGowan actually said you'll note that McPake kept them in the dressing room for the best part of an hour going through them.

No, he said "words were said and they had to be", which strongly implies the words that were being said were within the squad itself, as he has implied in previous occasions.

And what is the next line in the article? That they were kept behind for nearly an hour. It's only the manager that can do that.

That's just you putting your own assumptions on things.

Words aren't enough any more sadly.  Something drastic has to be done.  I propose executing a youth team player in front of the rest of the squad the next time we are losing at half time.

Preferably a shite one.

Kim Jong Un’s regime has complained in recent days after South Korean organisations sent anti-North Korean material across the border

Agree with the sentiment but not a youth player. Got to be one of the 11 who have just trooped off.
