I'd argue that the number of fans does not change the malicious intent of a chant. Whether 95% of 500 chant "paedo" or 95% of 2,000 chant it, it still carries the exact same malicious intent.

If your argument is that he will receive different types of abuse then that's fair - I'd assumed the remark was initially made in regards to the "topical" abuse that he'd receive.

As crass as it is, the "paedo" chant will be seen as jovial by some. They think it's a bit of banter and they've joined in.

When football fails there is always music; i've been playing a nice mix of the Stone Roses, Desmond Dekker and some various Rocksteady tunes which has ridden the Derry depression.

Forward we go.

Dundee till i die.

Thank you.

Excellent choice. Just make sure and avoid "The Second Coming".

Bizarre suggestion that the fan hit with the flare deserves it because he hadn’t reported it being thrown from well behind him in the 20 seconds between it landing on the park and being booted at him? Wild.

The weirdest thing about Griffiths last night was that Dundee had McGowan hitting the corners instead of him. Griffiths’ delivery is far better - as evidenced by his well aimed swipe of the flare…

There are a few things that could be picked apart from the Dundee performance last night - having McGowan on the corners and leaving a striker in the box is not one of them.

Is there significance behind the "Since 2007" figures?

Do Dundee have more overall?

It's generally regarded as the start of this era for Saints.

Since then it's been pretty much an upward cure. 1989 is another one often used, which was the move in stadium.

I suppose each club will have that significant point whereby things are measured from if not from formation. 2012 for Rangers, sometime in 70's for Aberdeen, Jerry Kerr taking over at Utd, 94 for ICT and County etc.

Dundee's is probably since the last admin? If not, maybe the one before that?

Would never have had us as high as 16 to be honest . Although I have done my best to block all memories of my Hampden visits since March 2011

apart from the semi we won on penalties obvs . Far as I’m concerned the rest never happened

Stuff like this unfortunately seems to come with the territory with Griffiths, every few weeks he'll do something a bit daft/naive/ridiculously stupid that will draw unneeded attention towards himself and the club he's playing for, drama seems to follow him. Booting a flair into the crowd is hardly Cantona at Selhurst Park, but as a 31 year old who has been a high profile footballer in Scotland for years he should know that it's just a bit of a daft, needless way to react that will create another discussion around him and cause hassle for his club, at a time when he absolutely doesn't need it.  Thankfully for Dundee he seems to have packed in social media, so there's less chance of him tweeting/liking something silly or arguing with fans like he used to do quite frequently at Celtic.

Unfortunately there's only so far music can go and i've not had a rant in a long time. I feel the time has come on the back of defeats to East Angus and the Perth diddies it's only natural for a man to feel wounded.

James McPake: your baldy wee nut was broadcasted to millions at the weekend. Much like Dundee there's substance around the sides but when it comes down to it the damage is there for all to see. Baldy as f**k.

We were fucking shite for a tremendously long part of last season and things were rectified when we played two natural wingers (McDaid and McMullen). Fast forward over the summer and you've got McGowan out wide again. Fucking comical. The only reason for this is to have someone with a worse barnet there for all to see. Use him as a sub like in the Hibs game and he can still be useful.

Cammy Kerr i've fucking had enough of you. Year after year it's just utter shite. This lad is just not good enough to progress our club and we continually just accept it. Scandalous that we're in the top league with Cammy Kerr and Elliot as our two choices.

McGhee has to score that header last night, no excuses. McMullens effort after the free kick is fucking disgraceful. Put your foot through the ball for fucksake.

This is reminding me of when we had Savo and Graham Bayne upfront. Used to spend the time watching through my fingers as the two doughnuts plied their trade. I'd currently rather be one of Bah Sack Jacks cats than watch this inane shite.

RandomGuy you're  cut from the same cloth as Twinkle and Granny Danger. LIke to give it big licks on here but when it comes down to facts you're a rustlers burger consuming, vest wearing wee mutant.

As Johnny Rotten once sang there's absolutely no future under McPake.

f**k off Dundee.

Anyway, remain positive Dees. That's all we can do.

Thank you.

Game vs. Aberdeen pushed back to 6PM on Sat 16th October rather than 3PM. No reason given.

Plenty of time for everyone to get nice and sloshed (me included)

Totally agree with this. I don't like Leigh Griffiths and obviously what he does off the pitch is his concern and his actions to own, but I think it is clear he is needing some help. Kicking the flare is not something that would on its own suggest a problem, but on top of other things, it's maybe an indicator.

If the people closest to him or who have a vested interest in his wellbeing wanted to get him better, they need to step up.

Clearly different circumstances and people, but kind of has shades of Gascoigne. Folk loved the stupid stuff and the character until it became really obvious there was serious problems. I think the same might be true here.

I wonder whether McPake is the right kind of manager for him. Maybe he needs more of a mentor/father figure than a mate.

On the pitch, while I don't think he played well, there is flashes there of the player he can be. His movement is still good, so if Dundee can get him sorted off the pitch, there is huge potential rewards in it.

With my Saints hat on, loved to see him spiral.

Away from football, a shame to see his decline and struggles.

What a load of bollocks. Griffiths didn’t look in the least bit bothered about what the wee Saintees were singing. He ran down and kicked 3 flares off the park to get the game restarted. End of. In the sea with all this dramatised notion of what went on.

See when you sing he’s a shite Jimmy Saville is it because he should be a good ain 😂 surely there’s a better wind-up song than that 😂

That is sensational

Some boy.

There’s a video from the Coxy showing the incident. He kicks 2 flares off the park and a 3rd in the Shankly that doesn’t reach the fans, there’s really not much in it. I hope the wee Saintee has recovered ok after his awful experience.
