Dorrans would be an interesting one, the man would clearly want to f**k over United after what happened earlier this year. Not too interested in Wighton, let the Fermers have him.

Dorrans is into the last year of his contract and more than likely won't play for sevco again. Would be another great signing at this level imo

Dorrans was the attacking midfielder I was hoping for. Read us being linked with him 6 or 7 weeks ago due to him apparently being a close friend of McPake’s after playing in the same Livingston side as youngsters and making their debuts around the same time. Id imagine the  stumbling block will be his wages of course unless he gets a payoff from Rangers and want’s to do his mate a favour and play in his team.

He was in the papers saying that McPake was the man for the job just after McPake was appointed.

                              Speroni

Kerr      McGhee           Meekings    Marshall

                                Byrne

              Dorrans                   Ness

                             McGowan/Todd

               Hemmings      Nelson/Johnson

What a starting 11 that'd be. Wing-backs aside that's an 11 challenging for the top 6 in the league above nevermind fighting for promotion.

If we were to get promoted, the two full backs and an ageing keeper would be an issue.

Looking at the keepers in the Prem, Speroni at age 50 would still comfortably be in the top 6 keepers in the league. Ross Laidlaw, Ross Stewart, Scott Bain, Fon Williams, Bobby Zlamal, Zander Clark & Vaclav Hladky wouldn't displace a 60 year old Speroni IMO.

No sure if we should just go baws oot, all out attack with a front 3 of Hemmings, Nelson and Johnson with the attitude of ‘you score 3, we’ll score 4 ye c***s’.

Derry rhumba.

It's mad how 1 signing can make you feel so positive after the shambles of last season.

Whether McPake succeeds or fails will be determined by his results but in this 1 signing he's made me happier than either McCann or the DAB ever did.

Agree completely. I think McPake will be successful, though.

Read on Twitter that the Hemmings deal has been on the go the past 6 weeks or so. Great to see we’re holding out and signing quality over quantity even though it’s been a pain for the fans over the weeks seeing no signings.

I know we’ve got to the 2nd September but ideally we’ll have our whole squad including new signings ready a week before the first derby on the 30th. Unlikely to happen but that game is going to be massive even at this early stage in the season.
