Don't usually get too upset about reserve team defeats but today's left me fuming. This playing the ball out from the back nonsense can GTF! We continually put ourselves in trouble doing it and three times we had to retake goal kicks because our panicked defenders touched the ball before it had left the penalty area.

Felt sorry for the poor keeper Sam Jackson who did not look at all comfortable but was obviously under instructions to find a man and not kick the ball upfield.

McCann was watching, but will no doubt insist on playing this way at Ibrox. Remember what happened last time with Kusunga?

Young team out today so didn't expect them to win. We were outmuscled by a stronger Well side. Lost count of the number of times our players were shoulder charged off the ball. Credit to Cammy Kerr who made his way to Forthbank to watch the reserves.

This.

If they are saying that Arsenal aren't good enough to play out from the back then we certainly shouldn't be either.

It's this obsession of copying everything that the top teams do that really annoys me. Be it tippa-tappa, playing out from the back or even one up front, why do we need to copy instead of playing the game to our strengths?

Sub-posting here a bit but absolutely massive shout out to the boy on TDB who's suggesting that "Folk probably said that about the Guildford Four" in response to someone saying there's no smoke without fire when commenting about the number of players McCann's supposedly fallen out with.

Fucking.Hell.

That entire thread is some laugh tbh.

You must have plenty of time on your hands.

Football’s a simple game. The best of teams since the 70s have been built on 2 dominant centrehalfs and a strong ball winning defensive midfielder that protects the defence and allows the fullbacks to get forward helping create the width. Get it fuckin sorted McCann.

This pish where it’s played from the fullback 10 yards to the central midfielder then he gives another 10 yard pass to the centrehalf needs binned asap, if any player at this level can’t pass a ball 20 yards get them punted. Cut out the extra pointless passes, get a winger on the park, get the ball out wide and get balls in the box. Really isn’t difficult tactics wise.

Spot on. You saw the immediate effect when we brought a decent winger on in the last game.

But that makes perfect sense.

McCann wants 'pretty' football and an element of surprise. So surprising he doesn't even know what team will be playing until they are picked from the hat.

The only thing more annoying than us not replacing him is that unlike the new St Mirren manager he did not earn the right to have his job.

Got a funny feeling it's going to be busy come 4-50 Saturday.
should we kick off the "McCann oot" shouts now. i sincerely hope hes used the last 2 weeks on shooting practice. he should maybe draw a picture of the goal on the back of moussas hand. that way when he confuses himself he has a visual aid

I reckon he will pull out all the stops against rangers and get a win to prolong his ludicrous managerial career another two weeks.

Anything from the game on Saturday will just paper over the gaping chasms that have become apparent to just about everyone now.
The board should have binned him after the ‘well game and tried some actual recruitment rather than asking the boy on the telly if he fancies a job.
Probably end up with Tyrone off STV next.

There's an excellent interview with Craig Robertson about his time as a trialist during the 25 point season. I still can't believe what we achieved that year, the players could go in at halftime and be losing and nobody would be booing. Now that's unimaginable.

I don't think we'll ever see togetherness from the fans like that again. I'd do anything to experience that feeling of love for my club again.
