All things Dundee FC

Recommended Posts

An athlete eh? Well, that's good to know. Because if you're sticking around to take on the position of the Dundee FC butler then you will need to be in good shape.

I've been a bit absent, we still going with a butler are we. We're nothing if not classy.  8)

I'm happy to see us continue with the butler role, it's served us well over the past couple of years. None more so than by the cowden fans who kept our 'tap o the league' thread in pristine condition.

The Sun is saying Mark Connolly rejected 2 top flight Scottish clubs to join Crawley. Do you think we could've be one of them considering we were supposed to be signing a CH within '48 hour's about 4 days ago now?

Do you think Hartley may be in the market for more than just one CH now that McPake is confirmed as out for another lengthy period? You'd have to imagine he seen McPake as one of the first names on the team sheet by handing him the armband.

Can you tell I'm bored of Pre-season with posts like this?

Defender James McPake has today publicly thanked Dundee and manager Paul Hartley for their support. Speaking to the Sun newspaper, McPake who is off to Austria today with the first team stated that Owner Tim Keyes, John Nelms & the manager have been brilliant. "The owner, Tim Keyes, messages me a lot, which is good of him, and the director, John Nelms, deserves a mention too. I only found out recently that in the hospital he told my mum that they would look after me, whatever it takes. Even last week, when there was a chance the specialist would say I needed surgery at a cost of £10-12,000, they didn’t even blink. For every member of staff or the players that have visited me, they should all know how much I’ve appreciated it.â€

Doesn't sound good for McPake tbh. He's sounding like he may need to hang up the boots.

ETA: actually upon reading the end, he sounds confident he will be back. Hope it's true!

Charlie Mulgrew... Could be absolute crap but in hearing we might be getting him.. Not sure if I believe it.

I mind we were trying to sign him when Callum Melville came to town. I was jizzing at the idea. Now....who am I kidding, pass the kleenex.

I'll believe it when I see it on the official site though.

Mulgrew would be a tremendous signing.

Not good enough for Scotland, not good enough for Celtic in Europe.

Definitely good enough for Dundee in the Premiership. Is he better than every centre half we have - probably.

Better than every CB, LB and CM you have. Would be a quality signing.

Heard he was on about 10k a week at Celtic though. Where are the rumours about this from?

Mulgrew would be a great signing imo.  Seems too outrageous a suggestion to actually happen mind.

Aye, probably bollox but there's always the PH connection that will give it legs. He was the reason O'Dea joined apparently. If Mulgrew has been told he's surplus and realistic about wages then he MIGHT be looking to carry on playing in the SPL for less wages, especially if he's financially sorted. He could probably get more money down south but maybe wants to stay for family. All total speculation on my part but not too far fetched. I'll not hold my breath though.

You'd imagine Hearts/Aberdeen would bite their respective hands off for him as well, and they'd probably be able to double the wage we'd be able to offer. I'd love it, but can't see it.

Mulgrew's wife is a grass. They live in a beautiful £750k house in Lenzie - not too far from the Peruvian drug smuggling lassie. Two of my mates were delivering a kitchen to one of the new builds next door and inadvertently swore within earshot of her children. Rather than ask them to watch their mouths, she reported them to the site manager who barred them off site.

Terrible business.
