The Arbroath Thread

Hopefully we are seriously considering alternate segregation arrangements for next season if games like tomorrow’s have to be segregated. If it’s not too costly then it’s a no brainer to allow home fans all of the seaside stand.

Ayr have something similar I think. When we go just get the smaller area, when the bigger clubs go they manage to split it 3/4 of the way down the far side terrace. ''Tis a bit gash.

A few arse holes in both Ayr and our support are to blame

True, but the stewards and police didn't deal with it very well either. If they had formed a cordon between both sets of fans instead of just standing around we might not have had handbags thrown.

We should give away fans what we have Montrose when we won the league the first time . Then when bigger crowds are expected give them the normal segregation

That’s a heavy March fixture list we have to fulfill and all the midweek games are against stronger sides so that will be real test. And a bit unfair on the part time teams. Mind you the fixture planning for the whole season always seems poor (too many free international breaks early season when weather is good and interest high, and no attempt to rearrange weekend league fixtures when teams are free from the Cup, plus the irregular h-a-a sequences. - some disagree I know.

Anyway given this intense sequence, we might need to moderate expectations. Less recovery time but so let’s hope we can pick up some points along the way. 8th place still some way off.

Still remember heading back from the last game of that season at Elgin and hearing how Gold had been signed on and all the moans and groans.....how were we all wrong

I remember the loudest cheer of the season at full time that day. A season on unbridled hell

Arbroath are only 6 points behind second placed Inverness ( both teams have played the same amount of games ).

We still most definitely have a chance of making the play offs - we play Inverness on Saturday having beaten them twice already this season.

Last season Ayr finished 4th and made the play offs with 54 points ( Inverness had 56 points ).

We have 10 games left to play.

It's been an outstanding season, the players have been brilliant and this is probably the best team in a generation .

Would be some achievement if we could be the first part time club to make the play offs.

Not saying it will happen - but if we can pick up around 15 points from the remaining 10 games it is very possible.

C'mon the 'broath.

Still can't believe the reaction from some when DC was announced manager. Proved a lot of people wrong and still going strong 4 years on.

Let’s not forget that he is was caught singing sectarian songs. Doesn’t get a free pass because we’ve won the league a few times

He would never have been my pick, but at the time he was the exactly the right choice, but never did I think for one moment we would have the success we have had
