The Arbroath Thread

No because looking at the players playing for Brechin and the goals and wins they racked up shows how shite most of it is. Is there not teams over 100 goals plus in minus goal difference.

Away and change your name to 2002 Blue Toon and enjoy following Peterhead now your pals away to them. His mates have embarrassed him on Twitter and on here now too so bit of advice, don’t start arguing with the clubs fans if things aren’t going well for him.

ETA - only one. Fort William must’ve been punted into some other teuchter league

Got relegated last year after refusing to play Banks of Dee in the playoff

The highland league is absolute muck bar a few teams, Arbroath High School FPs would probably finish mid table

Father-in -law is a season ticket holder at Brechin, says 6 or 7 Highland league teams might make a fist of it in League 2, rest are absolute dross

That will keep things ticking over nicely.

Miles ahead of any other part time club. Miles. Add that to the fact our average home attendance was 2150 and there are a whole raft of new sponsors etc lined up we really should be well off. Especially after last years 2nd placed finish.

For long term growth of the club staying in this league is absolutely massive for us. We’re in a unique position now where we’ve got full time infrastructure and crowds but still part time playing staff and coaches. It seems to be working out ok for the moment.

Alloa Athletic had the highest part time average crowd in League 1 last year second to us overall for part time - 834 (which will drop considerably with Dunfermline out the league) about 15k for the season. 2 Dundee United home games plus 2 other home games and we basically beat that with 14 games to spare and about 39k for the season. 24k extra paying customers just for league games only not even including other games and hospitality etc.

Clubs in a really good position right now.

Won't be Jack Hamilton. We've signed him on a three year deal.

Realistically at his age we had no chance. He will be wanting to focus on his football and be wanting something full time.

Like that signing, should add something that you having being missing this year. Long term deal means it should work for both parties

Shows how tough next years league is going to be

Dundee United

Partick Thistle or County

Inverness

Will all be nowhere near trouble

QP

Dunfermline

Ayr

Morton

Raith

Airdrie

The other sides in the division. The only one I would definitely say we should be aiming to finish above is Airdrie. It’ll be a right slog with some of the other sides.

Dunfermline definitely better than the 2 teams that went down. Ayr, QP and Morton fantastic last season although not sure what will happen over the summer with them. Raith average but have just signed a guy who can bang them in.

Again I’d say 8th has to be the main goal realistically. Some people might not like it but it’s a hard division and it’s just got harder this coming season for me.

Hopefully Dick signs well and we have a good squad that’ll make this year much more enjoyable than the last. Would love an uneventful mid table finish this year.

Best keeper we’ve ever had?  I don’t remember a better one.

Really shocked by this as no offence you guys are absolutely mid and tbh he is far too good for you guys imo. Always thought if he was to ever come back to the Championship it would only be to us considering the fantastic relationship he had with the fans here and the club and all the success he had ⚽🇱🇻🔥

On par maybe but not better ⚽🇱🇻🔥

Maybe not for Arbroath. I've seen enough of Hinchy at St. Mirren and Gaston in his Morton days though to state without reservation that Hinchy is (was) a far better keeper.

He played for you on loan and you could never afford to sign him on a  3 year full time deal in a part time set up.your main aim is to stay up so cheer up sweetie  😘
