The Arbroath Thread

Waiting for all the Campbell apologists to defend his approach to achieving the 1 point needed for safety.

”we’ll shit fest a 0-0 v Cove… it’s ok Dundee will win… we’ll shit fest a 0-0 v Partick… Morton will beat Cove… we’ll shit fest a 0-0 v Accies… Oh f**k there’s no more chances left”

”oh, here’s the playoffs… keep it tight lads, 0-0 in the first leg and we’ll win at Gayfield…”

All hope on morton,

Actually petrified of what team and tactics will be put out next week,

This season has been an absolute joke and some of the signings and performances would of got a lot of other managers sacked,

The management team and players owe every single fan a performance next week

I would put my house on us setting up for a 0-0 and praying Morton don’t lose. Accies to score early and defend like f**k for the rest of the game. We can’t score so it would probably work.

Cove win and we lose 0-7 and we end up 10th

I'd be less dispirited if Cove weren't so genuinely crap...on a normal season we would be nailed to the bottom sub 38 points or so is awful historically let alone 33

Yes they are crap but they’ve just taken 4 out of 6 points and given themselves a real chance of finishing 8th. I can’t believe that such an experienced manager as Campbell has assumed we could 0-0 our way to a point or expect others to do it for us.

Should have chucked the kitchen sink at Cove from the first minute last week. They were there for the taking but he preferred to be ultra cautious and try not to lose. 100% the same approach coming on Friday. Get him to f**k!!

The absolute fear going into next week. No idea what that dithering old f**k will do team wise

Good point...thinking hard but not sure any of current set up player wise have experience of this type of situation. Whether Dicky dum dum has not so sure .

Thistle deserved their win - but they were hardly outstanding.

Arbroath’s problem all season has been having no championship level striker - this has cost us points and today we offered nothing near Thistle’s 18 yard box.

We will end the season as it began without a Championship level striker.

Thistle were there for the taking - but we simply don’t have the strikers to compete at this level.

Disappointing, but Thistle took their chances and edged it.

All to play for next week - both at the top and bottom of the league.

The only things we have going for us, are Morton still with something to play for and our points on the board

And Inverness playing Ayr helps hugely...they cancel each other out a morton win does it for them. Again though it's all about others not ourselves

There is no way you can look at the last 2 performances and think we can stay up

This expecting others to get results for you reminds me so much of Scotland back in the day in the World Cup finals. Every fucking tournament we always ended up needing someone else to get a result. Did it ever work? Of course not. We need to go out and win on Friday.

Possibly the worst we’ve been all season bar the home games v Queen’s Park f**k me we are awful.

Probably “saving ourselves” for the big game next week.

A situation that should have been resolved last Saturday is now going to the last game.

Fucking magic.

Can already see the, we need you to get behind the team messages and get gayfield full, fact is the team has had unbelievable support all season and it hasn't been deserved for most of the performances we have had to witness,

We don't expect to win every week but we deserve way better performances than we have had,

Next week it's up to the management team to play the best players in there best positions snd go out and win the game and for them to pay back for the unbelievable backing they have had
