What's with the Iceland connection ? We signed Bakare and Ford last season also from Icelandic teams. Have we got an extended scouting system ?

No idea but it feels a little bit like the same panic buy scenario. Obviously have to give the guy a chance but not overly excited by this one.

Excited by all 3 signings especially Dylan Tait as he is a player I’ve always rated whenever he played against us and I think they will all do really well for us, Let’s see what they can bring 🇱🇻⚽️ Got a really strong feeling we will still bring in another experienced striker in the last month of this domestic window so wouldn’t be surprised to see Euan Henderson or Innes Cameron or even both come in to help and aid the development of Kareem & Shanks 💪

Is it due to their season and a winter break that players come available about now?
Anyway the laddie appears to have a good scoring ratio and is a youngster who may well develop into a real asset. Good luck Kareem. Welcome to the Lichties.

Aye we literally only have him and young Shanks upfront, not including Hilson because not sure he counts as a striker any more, he’s like the fit guy who likes running who you get along to help out at fives when you’re short. It’s not anywhere near good enough

That is a fantastic description of Hilson!

I'm seeing a lot of negativity about Isiaka, but lets give him games and chances eh?  Our midfield has plenty of goals in it, Fosu, Allan, McKenna, Low, Linn, Tait, they can all score goals.  All Shanks and/or Isiaka need to do is stay up front and be an out ball.

No running back into midfield to help out, no drifting out wide, no buzzing about as a second full back, just stay up front and provide us an option to start attacks.

Both players need games and minutes to get up to speed, so lets give Isiaka a chance and see what he can do before we all decide he is dreadful and should be rounded up and shot.

So a young defender from Birmingham u21s. - sounds ok

A young striker that from searching has not played first team football since September last year and been without a club since Jan 2022.- concerning but lets see what happens.

And a yound midfielder from Hibs that has plenty of experience at this level. - a good signing. Hopefully he does a job in midfield.

At least the average age of the squad will come down a bit if all 3 start.

If he’s only left today then does that mean he’ll have to sit out until January? It was all the paperwork done last night and just announced today?
The paperwork to release him was done yesterday. Just announcing it today.

He is free to sign for anyone now.

Tait should be an interesting signing for you. Regularly played more advanced for us in McGlynn's 4-2-3-1 in lieu of a more recognised No 10. Always looked like a midfielder pushing forward than a striker dropping deep in that role, if that makes any sense?

Always tried to make things happen and happy to take the ball in anywhere. Ended up squeezed out of our superlative 20/21 side by Brad Spencer and an almost insanely long break between injuries for Lewis Vaughan (a proper No 10)

Played well again through the start of the 21/22 season again in that more advanced role. Some reckoned he'd chucked it a bit after signing for Hibs but likely more just the kind of dip in form you get from younger players. Wad eventually replaced in January by Ben Williamson who was a bit of a downgrade in my opinion.

Having said that, he spent the last half of last season languishing either in the doldrums of Hibs training ground and latterly "riding the pine" (to quote TxRover) at Killie so might not be properly match fit to start with. It's an interesting signing given his best position is probably where you've already got Scott Allan so maybe it's about deputising for him where necessary. You can play him deeper and you'll get all the bundles of energy but suspect a wee bit too much petulance and not quite enough positional nuous when defending to be properly brilliant there.

No doubt you've got a good player there though. We were offered him but in fairness midfield is the one area we are quite well stacked. Still waiting to see if we managed to bag a striker ourselves.

Even if we bring in a few more to replace those leaving, it’s surely going to take time for them to gel. Could have half a team on Saturday who’ve never played together. Match fitness surely an issue too.
