The Arbroath Thread

Recommended Posts

That Caley thread is an absolute car crash due to idiots so thought I’d put this in here

TOB will be a big miss tomorrow and il be interested to see who Dick partners Ricky with. For me Jacobs MUST be dropped after his performance last week, he looks miles off it. Fosu made a big difference when introduced at Somerset so he might get a start.

See how we were hopeful of having a signing completed before the game LAST Saturday, what’s happened? Were we just absolutely nowhere near it or you think we’ve missed out on whoever it was we were going for?

Yeah that was a weird one, signing/s to be made prior to the game v Ayr. A week later and not a peep. Very unusual for the club to be so uncommunicative.

Rumour that Logan Chalmers might be going back out on loan this season - wonder if Arbroath would be a good fit for him, think he lives in Forfar and he could still train full time with United. Ayr and Inverness are also keeping a watch on this - these are just rumours. He has improved a lot since his last loan with Arbroath, which never really worked out.

If it was between us and Caley he would only be heading up to the highlands

And boom, just like that

DERI CORFE

Now this is the blonde chap who played left wing v Fylde, baring in mind he got off a plane from Arizona that same day... he started off very brightly and looked decent before fading badly, which is fair

Played for Man City from the ages of 12 to 18. Then moved to USA to do college and play football, 2 years in he transferred to the best team in the country and then he got drafted 41st overall in the country by the New York Red Bulls. He played a season for their 2nd side and then moved to FC Tucson where he seems to have been one of their best players and they wanted to keep him. 24 year old so maybe looking to try and break on the scene in the UK so we have given him a chance.

A great footballing education on paper whether or not that will transpire to doing well in the Scottish Championship is a whole other question but it is extremely intriguing

It seems like we’ve acquired or got contacts for a flat in Arbroath to put these signings in. Find it strange that we are signing guys and they are actually moving up to stay in the town, times have changed. I really hope this guy can come into the team and do something. Early signs for Fosu have been good, hopefully Corfe can do similar

Quite happy that we are not making run of the mill signings and that we’re thinking outside the box, Fosu looks useful, will see what this lads like, certainly a major change from the type of environment hes used to playing in but must be looking to make a name for himself. Welcome Deri

As the boy’s been here for a while now and presumably training with the squad, DC must think he’s a prospect. I agree that it’s refreshing that we’re bringing in players from different backgrounds. A tall winger who’s scored a few goals seems a good addition.
