#SellOutGayfield

https://arbroathfc.tv/sellout-gayfield/

Our club, like every other club up and down the country has had its heart ripped out since March of last year.

The terraces have been empty, the turnstiles have been locked up, the traditional change of ends, the conversations, the laughter, shouting at the linesmen, a half time pie, celebrating a goal, beers in hospitality and going home with a signed hot water bottle. It just hasn’t been the same without you!

You are our club.

Our debut season in the Championship was cut short and this season we have had away days which we all wanted to share together and home games where Gayfield would have been rocking with you our 12th man, woman and child cheering us on from the terraces.

It has now been over a year since we were last together at Gayfield, then our final game with you by our side was just a few days later away to Greenock Morton on Saturday 7th March 2020.

With only 8 games left, it has been a season we will never forget. However we are hopeful that you will be back with us very soon.

On Saturday 20th March 2020 we welcome Heart of Midlothian to Gayfield Park. This is a game that would have been a sell out with both sets of supporters cheering on their team as both sides in maroon battle it out on the park.

Taking inspiration from Marine who sold 30,000 tickets for their FA Cup match against Tottenham Hotspur we are going to #selloutGayfield

For just £5 supporters of both sides can buy a virtual ticket for this match and will be offered into a prize draw to win some very unique prizes from this Championship season.

https://arbroathfc.tv/sellout-gayfield/

There will be a Arbroath Home top signed, a Arbroath signed match ball, a Home Heart of Midlothian Top Signed, A signed Heart of Midlothian matc hball with more prizes set to be announced.

Gayfield can hold 6600 supporters, so we are offering both Arbroath and Heart of Midlothian the chance to buy 3300 home tickets and 3300 away tickets.

We know that under normal circumstances and at the business end of the season that Gayfield, an away day loved by many Gayfield would be a vision of maroon from both the home and away ends.

We hope that fans will join us in cheering their teams from home and take up this once in a lifetime opportunity.

C’mon the Lichties!

Based on the initial reaction on Twitter from my fellow Hearts fans, I wouldn't go spending the proceeds of the away tickets anytime soon.

I think this may have worked better on a Friday night fixture on TV that we couldn't sell our PPV for. Slightly surprised we're selling virtual tickets to a game that we're selling actual tickets for.

Not sure why Hearts fans are saying we voted to relegate them though as we voted for reconstruction which would have saved them from that surely.

While it won't make a huge amount of difference to us as a club/ we will still raise money, the virtual ticket idea I feel is certainly going to be more negative than positive PR outside of Arbroath fans and certainly from Hearts fans as we've seen. I can also see it not sitting so well with a few folk after the stream issues on Saturday.

The two main reasons Hearts were so supportive of the Inverness virtual ticket game was John Robertson and Inverness previously voting to help Hearts. Scott Gardiner, who is actually an absolute moron of the highest order, recognised this and knew they could very easily make a good whack through the goodwill Hearts fans have due to these two things.

We're the opposite - we've no real connection with Hearts at all (frankly we're an irrelevance to them) and it's very well known the majority of their support have been on this weird tirade towards every club in Scotland who voted to end the season early last year. Rightly or wrongly, that's how it is, and the club should have been more than aware of this, and the reaction from Hearts fans on social media etc. is exactly what should've been expected.

Over the past year or so the club have done a variety of superb initiatives for fundraising and giving back to the community etc. as well, including the recent half time draw which seems like it'll run for years and be a big success, and when you're coming up with fundraising ideas and putting things out there as we have quite a bit over the last wee while, you'll always have one where you maybe didn't read the room as well as you hoped, and this is definitely one of those I think...

Great news and well done to the AFC Board on the contract extensions to Big Luke then the fantastic news about Ricky Little signing a new 2 year deal, if my memory is correct did Ricky not sign on the same day as Sir Bobby Linn and if that is the case does that not make him entitled to a testimonial and if so why no news on this or maybe (like some AFC players in the past) they declined the offer?

Regardless this is great news of keeping Ricky and Luke on longer with the Red Lichties, we have a great squad of players.

C'Mon the Red Lichties, 36-0.

Arbroath were doing just fine financially before hearts come along and will do just fine without them,

Imagine not watching and supporting your team on a Saturday, Maybe if they weren't shite and bottom of the league at the time then this wouldn't of happened instead of trying to blame others.

Let’s see where we are after the midweek games. Our season starts now, we will stay up

This is right, but, missing the penalty today was criminal, we don't create many clearcut chances in a game, so we have convert guilt edge chances like this, the keeper made up his mind early to which way he was going, Mikey surely seen this and should have fired it straight down the middle

TASC SOCIAL MEDIA MAN OF THE MATCH - RESULT

Congratulations to Ricky Little on winning the TASC Social Media Man of the Match for his performance in the Lichties loss to Dundee yesterday. To the delight of all Lichties the central defender signed a new 2 year deal with the club last weekend and put in his usual solid performance at the heart of the Lichties defence at Dens Park. Thanks to all who voted 🇱🇻

I can't speak for all hearts fans (Only @Gorgie greatness can do that) but

Inverness handing back £5 from each away ticket to the Foundation of Hearts back when we were trying to save the club from liquidation was probably ahead of both of those reasons.

Arbroath playing in maroon and having a manager who is only a Dick in the literal sense will generate some goodwill though
