Another few points clear of Alloa at the moment another big one next week then 2 tough ones after that. See how we are sitting then then I’ll think about us maybe pushing up higher than 8th.
Lot of teams have games in hand, but a win on Saturday could see us 4th if results went our way. [emoji2956]

It will be interesting to hear if Allan Johnston is quite so dismissive of the Lichties this time. Maybe a wee bit more respectful?

Probably will be, absolute p***k of a man

TASC SOCIAL MEDIA MAN OF THE MATCH - RESULT

Congratulations to Dale Hilson on winning the TASC Social Media Man of the Match for his performance in the Lichties 1-0 win over Ayr United at Somerset Park yesterday, a win that extends our unbeaten run to 8 games. Hilly was at his energetic best on the west coast again yesterday and has now secured his 3rd man of the match award of the season. Thanks to all who voted 🇱🇻

Arbroath FC are delighted to announce a new halftime draw which will take place for the first time on Saturday at half time on Arbroath FC TV.

Not only does this draw help Arbroath FC, but currently will help 7 local clubs in our community, with the scope to grow and grow.

You can find out all about it here; https://www.arbroathfc.co.uk/lichties-half-time-draw/

If you do lose it you deserve liquidated.
We are woeful and the loudest sound at Gayfield that day will be all our stiff joints cracking and popping.

Dick will give fringe players game time. The “reward” of playing Celtic with no gate money is not much incentive.

We don’t have any fringe players really? Everyone capable of earning a start. And Celtic away in the Scottish Cups still a huge incentive, could easily be on TV.

Plus celtic are shite compared to years gone by, nothing to be scared of there,

Not scared at all. But not the same incentive without a crowd and a big payday. It’ll be on Premier Sport. Do we get any extra money for that? Fringe players? We have Pigniatello, Davidson, Whatley, Moore and Gallagher.

Davidson is injured. Whatley and Gallagher haven’t had much of a chance tbf.

And of course you’d get extra cash for being on TV? Not like the league is it?

Plus the incentive of Celtic at Celtic Park is huge for the players and DC too. Doesn’t come around often.

So, now Leagues 1 & 2 are restarting, what points target would we need to avoid the 9th playoff spot (which is Dick C’s stated objective)? I think most seasons, 40 points usually just about means safety (so probably 30 points+ in the current curtailed season) so that would be a minimum of a point a game equivalent until the end of the season.

For those ‘glass half full’ types, I think we would need maybe 40 points to entertain wild dreams of a promotion playoff slot (ie double our tally till now).

3 or 4 wins out of 9 should be enough, having said that the way this league is going it could still be incredibly tight right to the wire. Even Alloa, who are looking a little cut adrift at the moment, could start to climb the table with a good run. Not much between any of the teams this season apart form Hearts, although they’re not having it all their own way.
