Just dropping in to say that was some result at the weekend! Coming from a fan of a club who don't seem to be able to beat Inverness that is a phenomenal result.

Could you do me a small favor as well and put Talbot back in their junior box.

Talbot's capacity is 3,500. There 3,100 capacity last season vs Ayr because of access needs for the BBC and other services.

Talbot's main stand holds about 500 as reported but is likely to fill up quickly on the day. It can, and does, get very cold in there on matchdays though - something you'll all be well versed in no doubt. The stand came from Hamilton Accies' old ground when it was being replaced by a new one. The Talbot fans moved it brick by brick and rebuilt it at Beechwood Park (with a little specialist help, of course)

As a Junior club you're probably expecting it to be sparse facilities and a crap pitch. The pitch is the best in the Junior grade, and better than the vast majority of senior pitches. There are toilets for disabled fans, and females, within the ground at Beechwood. Superb pie hut, but we do get lengthy queues. Anyone wanting a programme from the game, it's £3, and it will sell out very quickly on the day - they always do regardless of how many are printed. The Cove game in the last round sold out a good 45 minutes before kick off.

Local pubs are good, and very accommodating as are the social clubs which I think at least one of the buses is booked into?

Beechwood generates a cracking atmosphere on big match days like these. Don't expect anything like the 3,000 plus we had against Ayr, but wouldn't be surprised to see it up around the 2,000 mark.

You should have a great away day. Hope we don't have too bad a home one as well. EEKA PEEKA.

Good help mate cheers

Would like to see this big chart of all the pitches you've rated though seeing as yours is better than the vast majority? [emoji23]

Where'd we rank?

But good to know it's decent anyway. Pitch covers too which is good to know just incase.

In fairness, their pitch is actually pretty good and a damn sight better than any plastic monstrosity we encounter from time to time in this league, but as you say I don't know how they've measured that it's "better than the vast majority of senior pitches".

All the Junior / Senior banter aside, they're a pretty decent outfit (we knew this last year but still came a cropper) especially on their own patch. They've got quite a few ex Ayr players in their ranks with League 1 / Championship experience and they've also got a winning mentality due to their decades of success in the Junior ranks.

That said, you are playing very well yourselves just now and I'm sure Dick will have your boys approaching this match in a professional manner, so given that, you should manage to negotiate this tie far better than we managed last year, but still, it should be a decent game.

All the best.

Reference the pitch. Last year apart, where we had damage at the home end goal after numerous games during the monsoon period, you really will struggle to find better.

Close season there was a lot of money from last year's Scottish Cup run spent on it to bring it back up to standard. I don't use anything as a yardstick to measure it by apart from the fact that it's usually still as good at the end of the season as it is at the start. You see the pitches of the senior clubs on the box and see the wear and tear down the lines come winter, and bare patches elsewhere. That doesn't happen at Beechwood, and we're genuinely proud of the playing surface, and if Arbroath play a decent game on the deck the'll absolutely love it.

Don't take my word for it though, you'll see it for yourselves when you're down. Bear in mind that we've just played seven consecutive home games on it through the whole of October and November when making your judgement. It's a cracker.

Sounds good then mate.

Although I can't think of that many poor pitches in the seniors now tbh. Cowdenbeath, Albion and Brechin aside. Even Brechin have made there's look like a bowling green recently in fairness, they obviously managed to capture that viral photo in the summer there.

Grass sure does trump plastic though.

Think that's what will happen (Murphy in for Miko)

Miko and stirling looked pretty similar against Dundee away and think having Miko there just sitting has really made a big difference

Big physical presence infront of back 4 winning it back, Whatley and Gold winning second balls infront of him

Murphy slightly different to that

Be happy with either outcome to be honest and again DC showing he knows what he's doing with his signings with having options there
