Forfar vs Greenock, the worst support to grace Balmoor, Morton.

Recommended Posts

Morton are pish considering they are full time . And yes indeed Morton fans are angry individuals .

Can you blame us? Really? The worst full-time team in Scottish football and probably the biggest underachievers to boot. Only Rangers are worse run.

Four. And the two who actually played at centre back sold two goals.

Six. You're forgetting that the full backs are centre backs too.

Fully deserved win for Forfar, it would have been robbery if we'd got an equaliser. The scoreline flattered us: if it wasn't for Gaston they would have had five or six.

If we'd kept the ball on the ground and passed it then we may have got somewhere today. Instead we only attempted to pass it from the back twice, coincidentally scoring on both those occasions. Most of the time it was just hoof, hoof, hoof and it was ridiculously comfortable for the Forfar defence. They completely outclassed us in midfield - partly because we don't have one but also because Husband was superb - while Denholm, Swankie and Hilson were excellent. Our defence just couldn't cope with them.

Regardless of how well the opposition were playing though, there's absolutely no excuse for some of the defending we saw today. Lamie was shocking as usual, Milojevic was all over the place and Crighton was the worst player on the park. Utterly pathetic defending for the first goal and dreadful throughout.

Duffy needs to stop being a moron (unlikely) and sign at least a central midfielder now, preferably another three or four signings. Or even better, resign.

Well Kilday could possibly be a centre-back in a Grant Evans sense of the word but Lamie doesn't even come close. I'm drawing a line at five because Lamie isn't actuallly a footballer.

Five. And we conceded three goals.

Swankie was outstanding today . Had the right back on toast numerous times . Mind you he has every right back in his back pocket every week . Class player

Indeed he did, and it speaks volumes that despite that our right back was our best defender by a distance yesterday. Still didn't have a good game, but nowhere near as catastrophic as the other three.

First game I've seen since pre-season yesterday and it was pretty atrocious stuff. If we'd nicked a draw yesterday it would have been very unjust.

Ricki Lamie and Crighton were both abysmal defensively and in their distribution of the ball. Stefan McCluskey offered nothing, either wide or up front. Mikey Miller was very obviously a defender playing in midfield and despite his effort and a few decent touches O'Ware isn't a centre forward.

As has been said elsewhere there seemed to be no real game plan apart from hoofing the ball towards McManus and it doesn't take a footballing genius to realise that Malcolm and Dodds were going to lap that up all game.

The last 5 minutes or so Morton looked a bit more balanced and involved in the game which coincided with having a left footed midfielder on the left hand side, 2 strikers up front and 2 central midfielders in central midfield. Hopefully Duffy might realise square pegs shouldn't go in round holes.

Also, credit to Gaston for a couple of decent stops to keep the score respectable.
