Does anyone know if the Edinburgh City U20 games are played on the first team pitch at Ainslie Park?

i am a groundhopper looking to tick it off as part of the 42 but don’t fancy making the trip if it’s played on an adjacent 3G. I know they use both when City and Spartans have a fixture clash, but Spartans are away this Friday.

I've seen them play on both. I think Spartans has first call on the main pitch, so if both Spartans and City are at home, then City will play on Pitch 2.

What have Blackburn been deducted points for  ?
We beat Caledonian Braves back in October, but one of the subs who played the last 20 mins was suspended. Unfortunately the note on the SFA website, which could have been clearer, was interpreted incorrectly.

Clubs really should be obligated to play at their home ground (and Gala is well equipped for Friday night games) or at least in the vicinity, not in a completely different town/city miles away in a 3G cage or school.

Upper Annandale U20's are a "flag of convenience" for a Glasgow side.

Application form needs to be accepted by the Lowland Development League and ground criteria will be need to be met. Don't understand why Netherdale cannot be used if they are entering as Galafairydean Rovers

It will have nothing to do with the availability of Netherdale and everything to do with recruitment.

Some clubs play fast and loose with ground criteria.

I see this has been put up on the SERYFA website again;

"Important Notice - Re playing U20s E O S Lowland League
All players, teams and secretarys should note that ANY PLAYER registered to play for any SERYFA team at any age group CANNOT play as a trialist for any U20's E O S Lowland League team. It is an offence and breach of SYFA rules "

It's not a breach of LL U20 rules though (they have the league name wrong). Maybe the SFA need to step in and rule on this.

This is twice now. Bit toothless if they don't start giving points deductions or player suspensions.

They need to check the SFA articles of association, it not against the rules to play trialists

It probably needs a definitive ruling on this, as the mixed messages are causing difficulties in getting players out of trial if SERYFA clubs think they are going to be punished.

That's the problem though. The LL/EOS teams are governed by SFA rules while the player is registered under SYFA, with their home club following SYFA regulations.

It is a shame as it denies players good opportunities for development and the clubs a proper opportunity to showcase and nurture their talent fully.

…. but the SYFA is subordinate to the SFA and has to apply the SFA rules unless they have specific authority not to. They may have for all I know but it should be run past the SFA ASAP.
