Maybe we could give it a specific name. You know, to make it even easier for them. Say, off the top of my head, a "team sheet"?

They don't carry team sheets on the park though do they? They are totally relying on the honesty of both sides to put on players who are eligible to play if they had team sheets or some form of teams list with them on the park they could see if a player was eligible during substitutions it's not like they have to pull out something while running the game would be stopped they could read it as the sub was being made.

You're confusing 'honesty' with 'competence'.

Otherwise, it's an interesting point. Perhaps they could take information with them onto the field of play to nail ALL eligibility issues there and then? Maybe an ipad with details of all registered players and notes of any suspension.

What do you think?

There are 4 copies of the team sheet.

Two are given to the referee, one to the opposing team and one is retained.

Not overly difficult to cross check the details are correct.

If a referee spots an obvious error (e.g. the same player listed twice or the form isn't signed), he will bring it to the attention of the erring club.

If only 17 players are listed, he will assume that is correct.

If this is actually the case it makes the whole thing even more surreal. If we genuinely was listed why did we sub him? Why did we turn in such an abject performance. We had to have a copy of the team sheet we submitted so a quick glance at that would have told us all we need to know. It's amateurish stuff.

Hamstring injury allegedly. If that was the case though why did he immediately jog down the tunnel alone without the physio even having a look at him.

Perhaps a gentlemans agreement was reached not to take this any further as the guy was subbed and Alloa humped us 3-0 anyway ?

He certainly didn't look injured and understandably looked pissed off when he was taken off . I felt really sorry for the poor bloke.

I was sitting right behind the home dugout when the sub happened and as others have pointed out he didn't look very injured at all. Looked really upset at being a subbed sub.

Also read in the threads about the Alloa team waving the teamsheet about as well. This whole 'injured' story just doesn't feel right IMO.

Hamstring isn't a lower leg injury suggested by Donald. All a bit strange. Anybody know the truth? CC? You're a bit quiet.
