St Johnstone vs Aberdeen - 23/08/14

Recommended Posts

Interesting match up from two of last seasons best sides. Neither have had the start they wanted, with Aberdeen being embarrassed by Dundee United and us losing to Hamilton.

We seemed to find a way to play against Aberdeen late on last season, but it was always a battle. Our players finally getting a rest after 4 games (three of them away) in 10 days should help, so we'll be hoping to find our high tempo game again. Stevie May being gone is a huge blow as he loved to score against Aberdeen but we have to hope somebody else can step up.

Mannus

Mackay - Anderson - Wright - Easton

Brown - Millar

Wotherspoon - McDonald - O'Halloran

MacLean

For me. Wouldn't be surprised to see Scobbie and Croft in the line up though, maybe even Kane. Also wouldn't mind Muzz on the bench purely for morale reasons, would give everyone a boost.

You can look forward to all the Mike Bassett's ripping that team selection above apart, despite it being the best option. Playing with two against Jack, Flood and Robson can't possibly fail you see.

Aberdeen are a better team than us and I suspect will beat us.

Was impressed with Saints against Celtic. Presume Mackay will have his ban overturned. The dons will probably line up

Langfield

Logan Anderson Reynolds Considine

Flood Jack

McGinn Pawlett Hayes

Rooney

subs: Brown, Taylor, Robson, Low, Smith, Goodwillie, Monakana

Goodwillie probably due a goal

#giveyouthachance #fourfourfuckingtwo

Only suggestion might make is that Scobbie might be a better option against Goodwillie?

Hopefully see O'Halloran and Macdonald getting beyond Maclean plenty. With May gone, need to find a way of stretching teams without over committing.

Always a match for any team at mcdiarmid park and very rarely have bad back to back games. Yes it will be a tough game but we more than capable of getting something from this one. Yes we had a poor result yesterday but we had 4 games in 10 days with lots of travel thrown in. Expect us to be more like our old, selves this weekend. Hopefully no gifted goals this week. Maybe a new player in for this weekend ?

I was just thinking we might have a new player come in before this game. No idea who though, and all the names being mentioned are horrific

Will be interesting to see how St Johnstone get on without May, I am happy he wont be there as did cause us problems in the last last games

This is a game if we are going to get 2nd we need to be winning

Am going to go for 2-0

Another Jack goal and one from Goodwillie

Dons fans on three sides of the pitch something wrong with that.

There will be Saints fans on three sides too, it's just the way it works out, mainly because we are generous enough to offer the family tickets to away supports. Both parents and two kids aged 12 or under from Aberdeen at McDiarmid Park on Saturday will cost £30 for the four of them. The equivalent Saints family at Pittodrie will pay at least £60. That is what there is something wrong with.
