There you go @Monkey Tennis.  The argument is no longer about our fans' hate speech but all about where our kit sits on the colour chart and what, perfectly innocuous, symbols are displayed on our shirts.

No it's not.  This is the Sportsound thread, and Michael Stewart's sensible comments on that programme yesterday, took discussion in this direction.

We've got onto shirts, because they provide examples of the club doing things to exacerbate rather than curb the difficulty.

Rangers and Celtic widely encourage bigotry and sectarianism to boost income and to suggest otherwise is highly moronic.

They want the best of both worlds.

They want to maximise the value of their, ahem, “appeal” without the idiots they attract getting them into trouble. They’re not stupid, they know why they have such a big support with two clubs in a relatively small city.

Kincardine yet again sticking to his MO trying to find clever wee loopholes to justify songs and displays centred around hating catholics. Embarrassing stuff. What's a real shame though is that gimps like him who will staunchly refuse to look inwardly, even in the face of UEFA taking peoples seats for games, aren't the ones losing their seats.

If the SFA are shamed into action by UEFA, it still wont be enough to make fans look inwardly. It appears to be something they are utterly incapable of.

Coming on here and trying to claim that tens of thousands of people at Ibrox are celebrating a historical King rather than trying to hate Celtic really loudly is proof positive that there is no redemption for the piss stained auld bigot.

How long is it since you were a regular at Ibrox Kincy? Do you look back fondly at your time on the terraces discussing 17th century history with the guy next to you?

No, you don't. I have been at Ibrox plenty of times. It is a place of bile and UEFA agree.

What both sides of the old scum don’t seem to realise is that if one grabs  the nettle and truly tackles the problem they can claim the moral high ground and lord it over the other lot for some time .  That surely should appeal to the thin skinned ego centrics that follow these teams .

It wouldn't be surprising to hear of the two clubs and fans sitting down round the table and thrashing out a deal for which terms/songs of abuse each set of neanderthals are allowed to sing.

No they won’t. What they’ll do is paint an angry banner and each set of fannies will unfurl it at their next home game to make some sort of warped point. It’s what they do. Right now, somewhere, the Green Brigade will be up to their knees in, erm, fabric paint.

I was more meaning both clubs meeting up and green lighting a procession of songs and abusive terms that fall within the Old Firms exclusive, off-dictionary, interchangeable and ever evolving definitions of sectarianism.

Fatty Traynor banging the table in a blood pressure haze screaming "YOU CAN'T HAVE *** UNLESS WE CAN HAVE ******!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

On a tangent, isn’t it uplifting that it takes partial closures and the threat of points deductions to convince people not to celebrate being up to their knees in ****** blood?

To be honest, being up to your knees no any kind of blood is pretty minging and hardly to be celebrated.

Unless you’re a butcher and a large black pudding order has just come in.

Don't be daft, that will never work. You'll have opposition fans infiltrating and signing offensive songs just to have their rivals deducted points!

Of course - and I was surprised at Billy Dodds.  Our orange kit, both then and now, was all about Britain's joint monarch William III of glorious memory.
Now we as a support have a problem with hate speech.  The club recognises this as do all of the Rangers fans on here.

Given part A) can you at least accept that rangers actively pursue a pro-union, pro-monarchy identity?

If so how do you expect to deal with the 2nd part given the tribal nature of football.

I would think it a near impossible task to get hearts fans to never sing anti-hibs songs or Morton fans to stop singing about paisley b*****ds etc being pro 1 side will make automatically make anti another nature.

Morton fans can sing anything they want, we very rarely hear it as they usually play in a division below us. 😀

As a general principle no Scottish team should wear Orange because while it looks good on Edgar Davids or Prince Buaben it looks really bad on pasty faced, freckled white people.

William of Orange, killed a lot of catholic’s. Rangers fan sing songs praising him and the club/company commission an orange shirt to pander to them.....

Aldolf hitler killed a lot of Jews.... if any clubs fans sang songs praising hitler, or a club had any imagery encouraging any of this beliefs, they would be disbanded and arrested (correctly by the way) in no time.
