Fair play to Kenny Shiels for showing solidarity with Lennon by phoning the show up pished

I always listen to the podcast the day after. I’m thinking if he was as bad as you intimate he will probably be edited out.

Rangers second goal goes in and the commentator’s immediate reaction is “Steven Gerard’s side are on for a league & cup double!!!”

Because it looks like they’ll get to the quarter finals but hey if Celtic are out it’s game over, eh?

When talking about whether the Scottish Cup final could be moved and have fans, he suggested the numbers of fans allowed that Daryl Broadfoot mentioned (250-500) had been plucked out of thin air by Broadfoot himself to back up his point about financial viability.

The numbers Broadfoot quoted were from the Scottish Government. Broadfoot stated they were Scot Gov guidelines multiple times but English wasn't for accepting it.

He compared their conversation to Paxman vs Howard. He wishes!!

I always thought there was something of the night about English.

Shelley Kerr completely rattled John Collins on last night’s show. Everytime Collins is on he Is banging his drum about when you are at Celtic or Rangers it’s all about winning nothing else matters. Last night he turned turtle with his views and was defending Celtic because they played well, created chances, and the result isn’t everything. The fact that Celtic have won none of the four matches between the clubs wasn’t that important to Collins because they have played well.

Eventually you reach an age where you realise they all just talk absolute crap to suit whatever mood they are in, or what their favourite clubs are doing, as in this instance.

There's basically zero objectivity in the whole racket which is why I basically switched off from all such programmes several years ago. They are not worth my time.

I mean you come potentially argue that the performance was more important than the result in the recent league dead rubber but that makes exactly zero sense for Sunday's game.

My point was that until yesterday John Collins has consistently said that being at the two clubs means you have to win every game, second is nowhere, result is all that matters. But suddenly Celtic have a decent performance, create great chances, but lose, and performance is all important to him not the result. Shelley Kerr had him spluttering and stuttering with her response.

Collins definitely seemed silly, trying to ignore the fact that the game they had just contested was a cup game where the result is definitely everything (wonder what he was saying after the league cup final the other year that celtic won despite being second best in the game) but Kerr didn't come across as much of a coach with her 'aye but who won the game John?' patter.

If memory serves, they were being asked to analyse the gap between the two sides, in which case looking at the performance is a valid part of the discussion.

Surprised when they were asking 'who would get in the team from Celtic?' nobody thought to ask what the corresponding answers would have been this time last year. At nothing else it would at least point out the asinine nature of the question itself, and highlighted just how drastic the turnabout has been, and what might have caused the changes on both directions. Would have bene a more nuanced, interesting discussion.

Oh aye in fact, it was Sportsound hosted by Kenny McIntyre, so that's why.

After another defeat and Ross County fans calling for him to go I was wondering if the Sportsound #ladz were still touting John Hughes for the managers gig at Celtic / Scotland / some other team that would never seriously consider him?

Why was he not having it?

As Broadfoot is 100% correct on the guidelines. 500 in tier 2. 1000 in tier 1 and 2000 in tier 0 with the potential for getting approval for more presumably based on stadiums ability to handle the distancing. Hence 12k for Euros.

English was trying to be the man of the people, campaigning for fans to be in the stadium against company man broadfoot.

Unfortunately for him he came across like a fucking idiot and accusing broadfoot of making up numbers. By the 6th time broadfoot told him it was published figures on the gov website he might have clicked, but no.

Broadfoot was being fairly obtuse about the whole thing but English made it very easy for him.
