Billy Dodds and Rob Green, commenting on the Killie/United game, being 'surprised' that St Mirren "let Callum Waters go" .. <_>

Weird to have the former Norwich City and England goalkeeper on comms, probably not a surprise he didn't know that.

Yeah, f**k knows how Green crept in there. My ability to use the correct surname is clearly at fault. That said, it's not like it's my job to remember his surname. Unlike professional commentators who should really have a modicum of knowledge of the players on the pitch. You know, considering that's what they are paid for.

Chick Young interviewing Stephen Robinson there, and perpetuating the myth that every time Celtic play at home there are 60,000 fans in the ground. When was the last time that Motherwell were at Celtic Park and there were more than 40,000 fans in attendance? Neil McCann has just said about teams playing here when the ground isn’t full as well. The only times that Celtic Park is anything like full is against Rangers and some European matches.

Levein trying to hide from his responsibility by continually blaming everyone else for what happened to his team is embarrassing. No idea what he thinks he's gaining by it, apart from occasional gigs on Sportsound and being mates with Tom English.

Would that not be enough for most folk?

We should be listening to yours though due to your extensive experience of playing at World Cups and that though aye?

Women are as perfectly capable of coming out with absolute shite as men. Judge them on what they're saying.

More than capable, in my experience.

Just listening to Saturday’s (quite short) podcast and was surprised to hear Craig Levein and Michael Stewart palling it up on the airwaves together.

Bit weird that innit??

I did hear them talking about Hamilton's tactics pre-match and Stewart said something along the lines of "at the risk of falling out with Craig."

Not like them.

"Callum Paterson isnt a striker" adamantly proclaimed by the esteemed presenter yesterday.

Correctly challenged by Broadfoot "well what is he then?". if someone is playing nearly all the time as a striker they're not a right back are they?

The all seemed so certain Dykes would start on Friday a well. Not sure why they're writing off Burke so strongly as he has featured quite regularly under Clarke has he not?

--------

Listening more later.

The conversation for Old Firm going to England was brought up by Levein. About collapsed when he was challenged as to where the managers ambitions would come for other managers without the Old Firm!!!

Paul Lambert joined an endless list of Celtic and Rangers old players last night by saying that players sometimes crumble under the pressure of playing for a club that has “got to win every game”. If they’ve “got” to win every game, what happens when they don’t?Does the Earth explode? No problem with them saying that these teams are expected to win most games, or that the players have got to try their best to win every game, but obviously the two of them don’t have to win every game, because they actually don’t.

They also conveniently leave out European games in this myth e.g. Brendan Rodgers regular tears about other teams having money.

Who was the last example of a player crumbling under this untold pressure?

I know Jack Hendry hasnt set the heather on fire, but thats because he was average to start with and a poor signing.

Maybe they should devote a programme exploring why these 2 cunty clubs are the largest and the most successful in the first place, the floundering trying to explain centuries of religious intolerance would be hilarious?

Jack Hendry's media reputation these days is tattered. He'd still absolutely stroll it and be one of the better players at most clubs in the top flight except the obvious.

His career choices have stifled what was clear potential - 25 and fewer than 90 senior games is the route cause of him not making it at Celtic.

He was 100X better for us than say Declan Gallagher was at around the same age. If he never left Partick Thistle when he did, he might've been the complete player that he can show glimpses of. Pity.

It's always annoyed how they make out that Celtic and Sevco (and previously Rangers) are the only teams in Scotland who want to win every game and how the expectation of winning every game is unique to them across the world.

Mrs Mathematics pulled me up for this last week. Apparantly saying "He's got to score that/pass that/ etc etc" after not doing it.

The other thing that gripes me with it is basically short answer to "oh the pressure" is if any player is incapable of handling the pressure of expectation at whatever team at whatever level it is they're playing at then they're not good enough to do so.

It's not like it's a new phenomenon of a player not being able to hack it mentally just because it's Old Firm.
