Pat Bonner is a slavering mess.

When they were discussing the Dembele situation (they touched on it for a few minutes), he said something along the lines of Celtic Football Club not tolerating players who get too big for their boots. Richard Gordon quickly pointed out that's the same at every club, only for Bonner to say he played for Celtic Football Club for however many years and Celtic Football Club is different

Green Brigade-esque claptrap. And we pay his wages.

I feel for Richard Gordon. He's a good broadcaster and clearly has a real enthusiasm for the Scottish game. He's then handed a bunch of slavering muppets like Bonner, 'Biscuits', McManus, Chick Young, and Willie Miller (who sounds like he's just given up) and basically just told to co-ordinate for them for 3 hours. Peter Houston being the 'VAR guy' in the studio is funny, they obviously think he has slightly more credibility and authority than the rest.

Was amazed to find Houston was in the studio ready to give his expert opinion on any controversial moments and all goals, the man's utterly clueless and offered nothing. Bizzare that he didn't have all games available to him as well, surely Sportscene have access to all five matches in the studio  - tho maybe three was Houston's limit.

Miller was clearly pissed off that the sending-off had happened to Aberdeen than because of any controversy over the last man rule. Hearing the idiots trying to figure out between them what the last man rule is was painful.

Tonight's show had Michael Stewart asking Darryl Broadfoot the hypothetical of whether someone could be sent off for denying an obvious goal scoring opportunity at the half way line. The answer of course being yes - it would just be unlikely to happen though!

Lee Mair was sent off at SMP for fouling Antoine-Curier. This took place 5 yards inside the half of the pitch Hamilton were defending yet the Ref deemed it "a clear goalscoring opportunity".

Scott McDonald needs emptied from this.

He says a lot and yet says absolutely nothing. Classic only got a job because of his OF profile.

He's unbearable.

He's like the annoying Celtic fan down your local who has watched a couple of youtube videos on coaching.

Looks like the BBC are doing some revisionism here...

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/scotland/45406189

That was yesterday's programme, it wasn't announced that Stubbs had left and no-one in the studio said he had, yet the description..

Quote

Former Scotland midfielder Michael Stewart, ex-Rangers captain Lee McCulloch and former Celtic striker Scott McDonald reflect on Alan Stubbs' St Mirren exit on BBC Radio Scotland's Sportsound.

..and some careful editing to make it seem they are talking "after the fact".

He's the bizarre sort of ex-OF player who presumably didn't grow up caring about the OF in any shape or form (I've no idea who he supported growing up but he was born in Australia so I doubt it was a Scottish team) but is now rabidly obsessed by them.

His parents were Scottish Celtic fans.
