No Steven, when he signed for THEM.

Gary has a different spelling of his surname if I remember correctly

Yeah, I was 'jokingly' referring to the BBC's tweet on the previous page :whistle

Steven Thompson talking about our game against Celtic at the weekend, saying it'll be really hard for Thistle but every point is valuable at this stage of the season, we'll need to try really hard to get at least a draw, etc etc.

It's a Scottish Cup game. And fair enough it's a one off mistake, but not one of the others corrected him. This seems to be a common feature of Sportsound - you can find instances every week where someone makes a basic error like this, and is never pulled up on it.

Had to switch off last night. Couldn’t handle listening to that moron. When discussing our starting XI and formation it was clear he had absolutely no idea what he was talking about.

They tried to go to Pat Bonner at Fir Park after the game tonight to get a report and found out he'd already buggered off home!

Aye-  that was utter amateur hour - cringeworthy stuff. Four games on last night, two in the top flight and they couldn't actually talk about one of them because Bonner had fucked off on the final whistle. The only saving grace was that given that it was Pat Bonner, he wouldn't have known who any of the players were. Or either or the teams.

They tried to go to Pat not long after I got back to the car. They may have already gone to him for a report just after the final whistle but I doubt it as they had Rangers to talk about. Surely a major part of being the match reporter is you provide a match report after the game? As much as they were laughing and joking about it, he should be getting his arse kicked for that.

Brian McLauchlin gave a full-time report from Fir Park.

No doubt which would have contained more information and facts in one sentence than what Bonner would have imparted in about 5 minutes.

Bonnar should be getting his arse kicked for being utterly hopeless at discussing anything outwith Celtic. He's 10 times worse than Willie Miller with Aberdeen.

Kept calling Scougall 'Steven' and Willock 'Wilcock', which is probably down to being too thick to read rather tham anything else. Then having read out the team lines said we'd be 4-4-2 with Kerr at left back and Tanser in midfield. Just a total lack of knowledge or research about the teams he is covering. If thats the level of coverage why bother having anybody reporting on it?

If nobody can be arsed to tell them apart, just merge them.

Why would we merge with penniless Championship diddies?

It should be a £1 takeover.  We could sell Tannadice (Stickle) brick by (Sitckle) brick on eBay.

Gordon Smith confirming that he's an absolute p***k by saying that when he was at the SFA he tried to get B Teams of the bigger teams in the 'lower leagues' (plural) and says it would have been beneficial for teams in the lower leagues. Of course the lower league teams told him 'absolutely not', so he sneakily implied that they did so solely out of self interest, and it was implied that this self interest was short sighted. He said this utterly without irony, as if such proposals weren't all about self interest and were hugely short sighted for the sides who would have 'B Teams'.

Bizarrely he then said he was against 'colt' sides.

This is what we're up against. This man was in charge of the SFA.

I was listening to that too.  Ultimately what is the difference between a 'B' team or a colts team?  It would have the same impact on the lower league teams and devalue these leagues.

Funny how clever Smith was/is yet he couldn't make big changes (any worthwhile changes??) whilst at the SFA and was posted missing while the old Rangers went bust.

If he was chocolate he would eat himself.
