He sometimes had to do matchday duties at a football match which involved standing by the pitch and watching the crowd. He wasn't allowed to turn round and watch the game. He tells me he ignored this rule on occasion. Especially if he was doing a game like East Fife v Stenny on a wet Tuesday night with a crowd of 100. Nobody ever pulled him up about it.
