Spain
I like this idea now. County (and everyone in the bottom outwith St. Mirren, and to a much lesser extent Motherwell) would be completely safe, whereas someone in the top six would be relegated. Albino Rover
ICT, without a win in 8, still hold the HP.
Fuctifano
Looks like we've went the entire season without having the hot potato #nocarbsbeforelargs
Albino Rover
Another game without a win for ICT, and they keep the Hot Potato.
Vbhoy
Another game without a win for ICT, and they keep the Hot Potato. Have a bad feeling we'll end up with both the title and the hot potato
Albino Rover
Even if Celtic end the season with the HP they can't be relegated now that they're champions.
Hayseed
Even if Celtic end the season with the HP they can't be relegated now that they're champions. Petition anyone?
The Master
If Inverness don't lose the hot potato midweek against Dundee Utd, they'll certainly do it against us next Saturday.
realmadrid
We could be challenging for it two weeks in a row if ICT win on Tuesday.

Albino Rover
As The Master has very tastefully illustrated, it's Hot Potato for the Arabs.
realmadrid
So for the second Saturday in a row we host the holders.
Albino Rover
Yes- but if Saints avoid the defeat they will guarantee a Potato-free end to the season.
invergowrie arab
Dundee are going down.
10menwent2mow
By my calculations, everyone in the Top 6 can still end up with the Tattie. If St J avoid defeat on Saturday though, that will eliminate the chances of both themselves and us ending up with the Tattie, thus allowing us to enjoy our final day encounter without the spectre of the spud looming large. A last day Dundee derby for the Tattie would be nice.
Albino Rover
A last day Dundee derby for the Tattie would be nice. I was trying to keep quiet about that, so as not to jinx it, but yes, it would be a triumph for the very institution of Hot Potato.
Albino Rover
No, even if they lose their relegation play-off, this year's winner will be HP-free at the start of next season. It goes back to the biggest loser on the opening weekend.
John Lambies Doos
Great thread. Can celtic still end with the HP?
Albino Rover
Yes- if Dundee Utd win either of their next two games, the losers will find themselves in a Potato match with Celtic. However, as champions, Celtic will be protected from a relegation play-off if they hold the HP at the end of the season.
