We are entitled to a share of UK Sport funding because it is part of UK government funding, just as we would look to negotiate a share in the same way we would look at defence spending and foreign affairs spending, Ms Robison said.

So we would want a share of that UK Sport funding to support Scottish Olympic and Paralympic athletes. We have also already set out that we would like the Lottery to continue as it does.

We contribute our fair share to the Lottery, perhaps slightly more, so we will seek for that to continue.

Would want our share of the funding which seems reasonable and the same from the lottery as Scottish people will still be buying lottery tickets, what's so hard to understand?

As far as I'm aware lottery rules prevent people overseas, either permanently or temporarily, from buying tickets.

So why would that mean we couldn't buy lottery tickets? We would still be British. As for your overseas comment what about NI? Genuinely unsure.

Nationality doesn't matter when buying a ticket. You have to be physically located in the UK at the time of purchase. Northern Ireland is in the UK.

It is perfectly legal for people from the Republic of Ireland to cross the border to buy tickets so that means residents of an independent Scotland could cross the border and buy tickets too as can any visitors to the UK from anywhere in the world.

No you don't. Like I already said, you can buy tickets whilst not 'physically located in the UK', you can buy them in stores in the Isle of Man. So why wouldn't a self governing Scotland be allowed to buy lottery tickets?

Isle of Man isn't, they're self governing and British and they can buy them in stores there so.....

There is a rule allowing tickets to be purchased on the Isle of Man. For lottery purposes they are treated as UK, just like they are for customs purposes, defence purposes, etc. They are semi-autonomous.

For the same reasons that a self-governing Republic of Ireland, France, Nauru, Japan, Chad, etc cannot sell lottery tickets.

Well is it not pretty obvious that IF it turned out Scottish people couldn't buy lottery tickets (don't think that will happen) in Scotland that we wouldn't be wanting any funding from them??????? She is clearly saying that on the assumption that we would still be able to.

Jeeezis.
