Rab B Nesbit
Nice to see Big Shelley and the team get back to winning ways yesterday. Pleasing. Put your spoon away Tam ... Nae complaints yesterday over the 90 mins Stirling deserved winners. Although after a bad first half hour we looked for a while like we could win it at 1-1. Voice of (t)reason
Herot Watt lost 2 - 0 at Leeds in quarter final. Napiers game vs Liverpool was postponed following an accident on the motorway meant that they wouldn't reach Edinburgh in time. Rearranged for next Wednesday. HibeeJibee
Edinburgh Uni and Heriot-Watt drew 1-1 in today's Varsity, with Edinburgh prevailing 3-2 on penalties. I'm presuming HW had a weakened team, as they've an EOS First Division game at Hawick this evening. EDIT: Actually scrub that, it seems that was some warm-up game and the actual Varsity match of first XIs has just started. (Incidentally a few years ago the university season entailed only the Scottish 1A and the British Cup. Nowadays it's the Scottish 1A, or the British Premier in Stirling's case with an extra 2 games; the British Championship/Trophy [edit: and the European Championship if you win the British Championship]; an extra Scottish QP Shield; and now separate Varsity ties!).
