also in Trophy R1...

... Liverpool 1-1 Heriot-Watt...

... 1-2 aet :P!!

In all seriousness, though, very good result for Watt that. Makes their calamitous relegation from Scottish 1A all the more puzzling... they're doing well in EOS1, won at Gala in the South Challenge Cup, now this. Inconsistent.

Anyone got the score from the Stirling v Loughborough top-of-the-table clash in British Premier North?

Great to see the Scousers getting robbed in their own back yard, makes a change eh? ;)

Rab he who laughs last...

Stirling 2-2 Loughborough

Stirling led 2-0 but two late goals conceded, unfortunately wasn't able to go today so I don't have better details.

Stirling 2s 0-2 Newcastle Trophy competition.

Loughborough scored in the 90th and 93rd minute to deservedly draw, having been the better team for the majority of the second half.

All-in-all, it was a pretty good day for the Scottish institutions, as Abertay also defeated Sheffield 2-1. Owing to the slightly odd arrangement of the tournament draw, there are bound to be 2 of them in QFs, as the R2 ties (due February 18th) are Abertay v Heriot-Watt + Edinburgh v Napier.

(Monday)

Scottish Queen's Park Shield, First Round

Heriot-Watt 1-1 Napier (4-3p, no extra-time)

Good result for Watt as they'd coped with extra-time the preceding Wednesday and Saturday.

(Wednesday)

British Premier North

Nottingham 0-1 Stirling

With only 2 games left, it's a shoot-out for the title between Loughborough (19pts - play Durham H, Nottingham A) and Stirling (17pts - play Sheffield Hallam A, Northumbria H).

University football now takes a 'festive break' until January.

Merry Christmas to all the tax dodgers.

Bump.

With action resuming soon - though of course there is a university derby in the Lowland League, tomorrow night - an update on where things are standing.

British Premier North

With 2 games to play only Loughborough (19pts) and Stirling (17pts) can win the league. In theory Stirling could be caught for 2nd place on head-to-head, if they lost both games and Northumbria won both theirs.

Jan 28th ... Northumbria v Nottingham - Loughborough v Durham - Sheffield Hallam v Stirling

Feb 4th ... Durham v Sheffield Hallam - Stirling v Northumbria - Nottingham v Loughborough

Scottish 1a

Heriot-Watt are down... With 2 games plus a rearranged postponement to go only Stirling 2nds (13pts + game-in-hand) and Edinburgh (11pts) can win the title, and they have still to meet.

Jan 28th ... Stirling 2nds v Heriot-Watt

Feb 4th ... Stirling 2nds v Edinburgh - Abertay v Napier

Feb 11th ... Napier v Stirling 2nd - Edinburgh v Heriot-Watt

British Championship

Although shown with a Last 16 on the BUCS website I imagine it will as normal feature the 12 British Premier clubs, including Stirling. Normally it's seeded with a top 2 finish meaning a R1 bye to boot.

R1: Feb 18th .... R2: Feb 25th ... SFs: Mar 11th ... Final: Mar 25th

British Trophy

R2: Feb 18th

Abertay v Heriot-Watt

Edinburgh v Napier

R3: Feb 25th

Leeds/Bristol v Abertay/Heriot-Watt

Edinburgh Napier v Newcastle/Birmingham 2nds/Liverpool JM

SFs: Mar 11th ... Final: Mar 25th

Scottish QP Shield

R2: by Feb 27th

Aberdeen v Heriot-Watt

Dundee v Stirling

Edinburgh v Robert Gordon's

Abertay v Strathclyde

SFs: by Mar 27th

Aberdeen/Heriot-Watt v Dundee/Stirling

Edinburgh/Robert Gordon's v Abertay/Strathclyde

Final: Apr 1st at Spartans

Todays results in the Premier North

Sheffield-Hallam 3-5 Stirling

Loughborough 3-1 Durham

Top Two

1 Loughborough 22 points

2 Stirling 20

Final league fixtures next Wednesday,

Stirling v Northumbria

Nottingham v Loughborough

If Stirling win, Loughborough just need to avoid defeat

to be Champions.

Stirling win, coupled with Loughborough draw,

would see Loughborough Champions on the head to head.

Scottish 1A

Stirling 1-1 Heriot-Watt

Stirling have the chance to win this section next Weds,

when they are at home to second placed Edinburgh.

Do you mean, Jean Claude Darcheville

I've been told a rumour was doing the rounds

but at 39 years old, I'm told a rumour is all it is

No truth in it at all.

Certainly could do with strengthening up front but

I don't see how he would be the man.

To add to my previous post.

Googled the name and the info says he has signed for

Stirling University Lowland League side,

while he studies to become a 'Vet'

at 39 is he not already a 'vet' Veteran LOL

Who knows who or what to believe on this one,

I'm sure we will soon find out!

Noticed from previous posts that Edinburgh play Napier at 3pm this Wednesday (18th). The BUCS website has game at CSE Peffermill but does anyone know what pitch this will be on? Main LL pitch or the 3G? Thanks in advance

Believe it will be on the main pitch they use on a Saturday Franky!

No first team players were out that night , the Record mentions members of the Lowland League Club which is completely wrong, if they asked the University they would tell them this as well. The teams involved were the 3s thru to the 6th team. The Lowland League side and EOS side had nothing to do with this incident. Just helping to clear this up. Cheers

Seen as the leagues sponsored by the S*n lets no let a few facts get in the way of a good story.
