Nugent4nil
Charges for friendlies will always be a touchey subject! Clubs need £'s but punters see it as a non event it's a no win situation for all
peasy23
Trouble is though Robert that Super league clubs have been told they MUST have a ref and two assistants for a friendly match, that's £90 that has to be found before you even think about laying on a cuppa and a sandwich for the players. Because of that I don't think 2 quid or so is too much to ask to pay for a friendly. Just as an example Kilbirnie have been given assistants for all 4 matches at their tournament, yet Maybole, EK Thistle and Johnstoe Burgh only have refs to pay for. peasy23
Since when ? That's what our match secretary was told. We only wanted a ref for Saturday and Wednesday's games.

peasy23
But Maybole are a Super League club as well. True, but only going on what I was told. Did you ask for assistants for next Wednesday v Meadow? Because you've got them!
glensmad
So I see. But there are several friendlies with Super League sides at home with only a referee and no assistants listed, e,g, Hurlford United, Irvine Victoria, Glenafton Athletic.

Possibly down to availability, we're still in the main holiday period so they might be a few short.

Shannon
£5 a skull to get in today, scandalous !!Should be only £2-3. Shettleston probably bumped you. Well known for it...Free today for us v Sauchie away but good donations and raffle had done so well the lady had to go for more raffles but cant imagine every team can do that as refs and linos to be payed etc so £2 or £3 reasonable with £1 / £1.50 concessions. £5 is a bump imo.
