Stats certainly show why Tayport & St Andrews relegated. The amount of points dropped from a winning position was criminal.

Yes you are right although the points dropped tend to be overstated. For example if Bo'ness and Linlithgow draw 1-1 and Bon'ess score 1st Linlithgow have only gained 1 point and Bo'ness have dropped 2 and if the same happens in the reverse fixture but with Linlithgow scoring 1st Bo'ness have only gained a point and Linlithgow have lost 2.

So their totals for the 2 games would be Bo'ness Gained 1 point lost 2, Linlithgow gained 1 lost 2 despite them getting the same result.

you need more detailed stats and a break down of of goal times to see exactly what helped Bo'ness to win the league or more to the point why Linlithgow didn't win it.

Goals lost between 30-45 minutes was 12 for Linlithgow but only 4 for Bo'ness.

The main factor would also be the 1st half performances in the 1st 18 games of the season for Linlithgow.

The 1st 18 games 0-45 minutes their record would be played 18, won 5 draw 8 lost 5 -

However the last 12 games 0-45 mins their record was played 12, won 11 drawn 1 - this gives them their 57 point total.

You could also point to Bo'ness scoring 22 goals in the last 15 minutes, not losing a home goal in the last 15, not losing an away goal in the 1st 15 and scoring 51 times at home.

Sadly Tayport away from home just couldn't keep a lead.. close in on 6 of the 15 games and there is 15 points dropped. This is backed up by their 2nd half agg score of 9-21. You could also point to 6 away penalites lost which was the highest I think as well
