VodkaTap
A friend recently had Windows 7 reinstalled, together with Internet Explorer 11 Since then, basic addon programs like Adobe Reader, Adobe Flash or Java cannot be installed. With every attempt we are advised there is a problem with the certificates and they cannot be downloaded. Any ideas ??

54_and_counting
try a different browser when downloading them?
VodkaTap
I could certainly do that - but that would not solve the original issue, nor would it solve the problem of downloading other programs in the future

Any ideas ?? as for your problem. go into control panel, then internet options and check the security level. You could well be infected with malware though. You sure this wasn't a torrent iso? Blue Brazil Forever
Have you got a Back up including the original certificates? If so they need to be installed. See this week's Micro Mart Mag Page 93 (ask Jason) for a possible solution.
VodkaTap
This laptop is a Dell and as far as i am aware had windows 7 reinstalled from the Dell site together with Internet explorer 11. This was done by a local pc shop that I have also used a number of times without any issues. The laptop had not been used and the installing Adobe reader etc was the first task i was asked to do Potential malware issues should not have been an issue. I did check the security levels etc and nothing out of the ordinary. The man from the pc shop ws out onsite today so he has still to come back to me. I have never seen a problem like this before.
