Southampton chairman saying on Talksport that neither Schierderlin or Rodriguez wil lbe sold.

Aye right then, we 'll see when Daniel Levy or some other muppet offers £30 million for the frenchman.

Wasn't what he actually said that they could only go if they handed in a formal request? That is far far away from saying they won't be sold.

£28m!! Fucking hell, some big fees this summer.

It's weird eh, it's almost as if the EPL just started a massive new deal and all the clubs in it have a lot more money than previously.

BTW that's up there with all the so called ridiculous fees but I doubt we'll hear the same outrage.

Bertrand is a great replacement for Shaw.

28 mill is a really good deal for Chelsea but if he does the business for Everton consistently over his contract then it's a pretty good buy for them also.

Saints were getting slaughtered by the press for the selling big players but so far have got in a replacement for lallana shaw and lambert, chambers didn't play all the time they have clyne and ward prowse who can play there so won't replace him, they will bring in van dijk for 7-8 m or Vlaar at 10m to replace Lovren and be left with around 70 mill before using 7-8 for Forster. Granted the team will be weaker but will still survive, great bit of business if you ask me

£28 million is an awful lot for Lukaku. Everton will end up offloading him at a loss.

Suddenly it's a totally different scenario isn't it from loan signing to having that fee hanging over his head. Be interesting to see if he can reproduce last seasons impressive form.

Lukaku is a great player

28m great? He was dead weight at the world cup, but I suppose if he keeps up his league form then it'll be worth the money. Maybe.

Is it really good business for Chelsea though? Yes they've made 10 million on Lukaku, but he is a proven striker in the Premier League. Costa has had one very good season in La Liga, followed up by a horrendous World Cup. We could see come December Lukaku sitting on 10+ goals and Costa, in an unfamiliar team and league, struggling with bad form. Only time will tell though.
