Weather permitting big game in Nethybridge tommora night Grantown fc v Inverness City in Dominos pizza cup. 18.45 kick off. Both teams seem to be scoring for fun so should be a good game, although both teams missing about 8-9 players each.

Cheers. Both games are being played close to where I am staying this weekend so will make one of them.

Saturday 16th August 2014

Grill League cup

Section 8

East End v Inverness City

PMAC Group First Division East

Bridge of Don Thistle v Aberdeen University (at Aberdeen Sports Village) AT HILLHEAD.

It had been shown as ASV on the North's website fixture list, then that suffix disappeared.

The referee appointments list just out shows it as Hillhead.

The two venues aren't far from each other, just show up 30min before kick off at one and if there are not players warming up or there is no sign of anything happening like the nets having gone up, go over to the other. I would try Hillhead first.

This is a slightly ludicrous situation where firstly BOD Thistle are down to play a home league match at ASV, which is, to all intents and purposes, an away ground, then it is switched to Hillhead so that University are now playing an away league match at their home ground.

Perhaps there are good reasons for clubs having first call on their ground, after all! Groundsharing might, where possible, be better confined to clubs in different leagues.

What I know is that BOD have confirmed ASV for the game, the initial fixture list stated that this game will be played at ASV. I think the mistake lies in the Referee Appointments.

I'm sure the secretary will get this changed in due course.

Aye - the Refs Appointments pdf has now (Thursday) been updated, with it at ASV as per originally.

It also shows the update that Newmachar v FC Stoneywood is switched to FC Stoneywood.

Looking to take a game in this weekend preferably near to Balmedie! Can anyone suggest one? Thanks in advance!

Your closest game will be Newmachar Utd v FC Stoneywood in the GA Inter Regional Cup at Newmachar - KO 14:00

Further out the south you have Bridge of Don Thistle v Aberdeen Uni at the Sports Village in Aberdeen, East End v Inverness City at New Avocates Park on Golf Road both games near Pittodrie Stadium. To the North further out you have Ellon Utd v Lossiemouth Utd in Ellon All these other games are in the Grill League Cup.

Vinnie-7 is correct.

Newmachar's ground hasn't fully recovered from last season and they will not be playing at home until the start of Septembe rat the earliest, so they have given up ground rights to play at Stoneywood's new ground in Market Street.

The new pitch is at the top of Market Street in Stoneywood so instead of turning right at the lights at the Woodend Bar, you turn left and the ground is at the top of that road .

Anyone know what East End or BOD charge for admission or if either issue a programme?

Normal admission charge in First Division is £4 but can't guarantee these clubs will charge that. Very unlikely that there will be a programme at either venue unless they have started to issue this season.

Was £5 for East End. Was a decent game. Thought City played better football with the number 2 and number 11 being stand outs however East End were more clinical in front of goal.
