Don't know the answer to that query. Very sad though; they were an old established and very successful Elgin based team, with a loadof league/cup wins, who suffered a disaster with their pitch some time back and they never quite got over it. Hope they come back but it will be a real uphill struggle.

This is from the Culter FC Website today - 11 June 2014

New Culter FC management team revealed 10 Jun, 2014

“Culter FC have appointed a new management team, after various interviews with potential candidates it was decided that the following guys were most suited for Culter FC going forward.

The new Culter FC management team for 2014-2015 are :

Duncan Ord – c/o Manager

Hugh Robertson – c/o Manager

Colin Craik - Coach

All of the above guys have all played for Culter FC in the past and the club believe the way forward is to continue with the same philosophy the club has been run over the last 10-15 successful years. Hugh Robertson (Shuggie) has recently retired from playing for the club and was part of Culter FC squad for 5 years. Hugh was probably the most experienced player in North Junior football as he played professional football with Aberdeen, Dundee, Hartlepool and Ross County. Duncan Ord previously played for Culter from 2002-2007 and won many trophies with the club and he also has Highland League playing experience and has been coach at Stoneywood FC for the last 4-5 years. Colin Craik played and captained Culter FC for 10 years and retired in 2012, he also has Highland League playing experience.

Unfortunately due to the late decision of losing the previous Culter FC management team (Andy Gibson, Gary Thow and Murray Rattray) due to their retirement from the game. The new Culter FC management team have a difficult task to retain or sign new players during the close season, arrange pre-season training and friendlies at short notice. However I am confident that Duncan, Hugh and Colin can continue the good work from the previous years and ensure Culter FC are still one of the top junior teams in the North Region in the future.”

There's no reason the uni and thistle can't groundshare. The uni would be playing its 2nd XI games at Balgownie and BUCS and SUSF fixtures are Wednesday afternoons. Hopefully some common sense will prevail...
