clash city rocker
An increase to £6 is long overdue. It's only £1, but it is a 20% increase in gate revenue if the attendances remain the same. Can't think of any Talbot fan that would walk away because of an extra quid. Surely that would be the same elsewhere, given the perilous state of finances in the Junior game, barring the lucky few? No problem with paying an extra quid but you have to be sure that the few folk that pay to watch the likes of Craigmark will still come....the difference between gaining an extra quid or losing 4 could be massive to those clubs more than Talbot or Kilbirnie.
Obi2kinobi
My club would get an extra £10 a home game for the price increase and equates to 1 pitch let for the season

District league teams like Craigmark will be still be the same price just teams in Super League.

Ahh a see didnae realise. then again though it's no as if the Talbot need an extra quid a body to compete at the top but Craigmark would bite yer hand off for a poond.
Maxy1888
£15 to watch Ayr United without buying a pie and bovril or taking into conisderation travelling costs etc. £5 or £6 to watch teams in some case ex Ayr players, a lot of players far better than a lot of players on show at Ayr games and you don't get the banter and excitement you do at a junior game. Am sorry but the junior games walk all over a game at £15. Would pay £5 or £6 anyday.

There must be a lot of fans simply cannot afford the cost of over-priced SPFL football. But what the junior clubs need to do is try and get some of these fans into their grounds and see what value they are getting for their money.

What's the reasoning?

Why is this the only region that has them? It's stupid and runs the very high risk of a successful team folding in the next few weeks! It is a stupid rule, especially when the university have said they are happy to groundshare (as they do now!). Not sure if it's mainly targeted at Junior teams groundsharing with Senior teams in the HFL from a fixture priority point-of-view. Sadly, the university do own Hillhead and their other pitches at Balgownie and King's College are basically unenclosed playing fields. Doesn't much help in the potential development of facilities in the North, you'd think a couple of Aberdeen teams could groundshare at the sports village, especially when the new 3G is built.
moredanlife
Does this rule apply only if both teams are members of the NRJFA? Curious as a few teams groundshare with amateur teams from the AAFA

footiefanboy
Does this rule apply only if both teams are members of the NRJFA? Curious as a few teams groundshare with amateur teams from the AAFA I think the rule (By-law)states that any club in membership of the NRJFA should have first call on their facility, rather than just saying no groundsharing. This means that where a Junior and Amateur team use the same facility (e.g. Hall Russells and Nicolls XI) Hall Russells have first call on their pitch with Nicolls as tenants.
LongTimeLurker
Must be a NRJFA rather than an SJFA thing given the way Yoker and Clydebank groundshare in the west and East Craigie used to groundshare with Elmwood in the east. Did Aberdeen junior clubs not used to share the athletics stadium stadium beside Pittodrie where Lewis United still play? Have vague recollections of Parkvale playing there as well before they took over Bon Accord's ground out in the middle of nowhere.
THEWHITEGATES
Who is 'the whitegates' that disagrees that the SJFA AGM is a shambles? I take it you're the Newtongrange rep? Is it pork pies you're rushing the football agenda for, or the drinks at the bar? The whole thing's a jolly, with football priority number Z. Sorry to disappoint you, but I've been at the last couple and not even seen a cup of tea. There was no hospitality before, during or after the one at Hampden 2 years ago - we bought our own coffee in the Hampden Museum cafe afterwards. Whilst there was a reception at a separate venue after last year's one in Aberdeen we skipped it to get the train home. Please yourself with the jibes but that's what happened - it certainly was no jolly for us.

Loughal
forget the hospitality. what improvements were made to junior football? Bit of an optimist marconi if you think they will be rushing to publicise any progress from the the SJFA. They will continue in just the same way as ever, supporting Sep Blatter Johnstone. He dictates all that happens in the junior world, oblivious to any talk of progress, well entrenched in his comfortable igloo at Hampden.
garrellburn
buffet and Sorry to disappoint you, but I've been at the last couple and not even seen a cup of tea. Whilst there was a reception at a separate venue after last year's one in Aberdeen we skipped it to get the train home. Please yourself with the jibes but that's what happened - it certainly was no jolly for us. Speaking as a delegate who has been at more than a few over the past twenty years the post meeting hospitality has declined from a sit down "knife and fork" meal to a buffet or just a sandwich or two and a complimentary drink. The Hampden one a couple of years ago was a total disgrace, the meeting over in little more than half an hour then delegates left to fend for themselves as regards refreshments or a bite to eat. There are not even any decent pubs within a reasonable walking distance. The Aberdeen AGM was one of the better ones of recent years, a fair walk from the cinema to the City hall but once there we were treated to a very decent buffet, albeit a shortage of strong drink. Fortunately it was not too far to the Parkvale Social club where we were able to prepare ourselves for the long trip back. The entertainment laid on for us on the bus, courtesy of Felix and Billy Barbour was absolutely priceless, and I'm pretty sure the two female delegates from the Ayrshire coast enjoyed it as well!
energyzone
Re Craigmark etc - what is the admission price there? I'm sure I was charged £4 to watch Ardeer on several occasions last year and would have happily paid an extra £1 to round it up to a fiver.

peasy23
West AGM Felix McKenna (the Ants) is the new President while Matt Bamford ( Clydebank) is the new VP. Season starts 9th August, no Monday games in the Sectional so it will be Sat-Wed-Sat-Wed-Sat, quarters on Wed 27th Aug with the semis the next week. Leagues start on Saturday 30th August. Fixtures will be online in the next day or two. Price increase wasn't even voted upon as it wasn't submitted as an alteration to rule.
