HibeeJibee
Draws for the various cups are on the D&G News website... According to the Lochar Thistle twitter the Cree Lodge and Tweedie cups were also drawn but they aren't up yet. SPFL and Lowland clubs only entering the 1 cup by the looks of it? Southern Counties Cup Newton Stewart v Dalbeattie Star Edusport Academy v Creetown Crichton v Fleet Star which by my reckoning must mean 13 byes for - Abbey Vale, Annan Athletic, Dumfries YMCA, Heston Rovers, Lochar Thistle, Mid Annandale, Nithsdale Wanderers, Queen of the South, St Cuthbert Wanderers, Stranraer, Threave Rovers, Upper Annandale and Wigtown & Bladnoch. South of Scotland League Cup Edusport Academy v Creetown Fleet Star v Crichton Nithsdale Wanderers v Mid Annandale Upper Annandale v Wigtown St Cuthbert Wanderers v Abbey Vale Lochar Thistle v Dumfries YMC byes for - Newton Stewart and Heston Rovers. Potts Cup Nithsdale Wanderers v Edusport Academy Upper Annandale v Wigtown Abbey Vale v Mid Annandale Fleet Star v Newton Stewart St Cuthbert Wanderers v Lochar Thistle Creetown v Dumfries YMCA byes for - Crichton and Heston Rovers. Haig Gordon Trophy Upper Annandale v Heston Rovers Crichton v Mid Annandale Newton Stewart v Abbey Vale Fleet Star v Creetown St Cuthbert Wanderers v Wigtown Edusport Academy v Nithsdale Wanderers byes for - Dumfries YMCA and Lochar Thistle. HibeeJibee
Edusports debut in cup football hardly delivered variety...In the first 2 cups they got Creetown at home twice (no doubt giving the Creetown treasurer quite a startle!!) and in the next 2 cups they got Nithsdale home then away . Anyone have the Tweedie and Cree Lodge Cup draws?

mrman2011
Too many cups and they are the same Why not merge a few and have a group cup with a knockout
HibeeJibee
It all seems very repetitive now that the Lowland clubs had withdrawn, and none of the SPFL clubs enter (e.g. Queen of the South put their youths into the Haig Gordon a few times recently). They've basically got 5 identical versions of the South of Scotland League Cup, drawn over 'n over. Also leads to a wild variation in totals. If someone like Wigtown reaches the Final of all 5 competitions they play up to 20 ties, if someone like Creetown fail to win a tie they play 5. Plus there's the Southern Counties Cup, the South Challenge Cup and the Scottish Cup, too. EDIT: They previously dealt with this problem through unusual methods. Traditionally the most prestigious tournaments, the South Challenge Cup and the (less prestigious) Potts Cup, were always annual... But from the late 1970s to the mid 1990s the Cree Lodge Cup and Tweedie Cup were contested in alternate seasons. This policy seems to have been used with various cups - including some now extinct - during the 1950s and 1960s, too. And from 1963 to 1975, the League Cup actually went to the League runner-up. Maybe they could turn 2 into East & West cups?
Upper Annandale
Can anyone advise when the league fixtures are released please?

HibeeJibee
Are Heston and Mid Annandale still groundsharing with QotS and Annan, respectively? Presumably theirs will need to be arranged around their landlords.
