Heart of Midlothian 2014-

Recommended Posts

Heart's will have a manager in name only and also a puppet for you know who to play with, expect a formation of 4.5.1almost every week, unless he wants to play safe and go with 0 up top again. Long long season ahead the suffering is about to start.

We've played 4231 and 451 for about 7 years, Hearts do not have a manager, Levein played 0 strikers once against a team far superior to his and nearly got a result and took Hearts to the UEFA Cup groups while the clubs finances were in turmoil. Built Dundee United up from serial under-achievers to top of the league contenders as well.

Swing and a miss, champ.

Football is too complicated for you. Try snooker.

Maybe but the one most of us remember is when he did it completely needlessly against a bang average Czech side trading on previous reputations who went on to lose at home to Lithuania in the same campaign.

Only one person swinging and missing if your using the Czech game to talk Avril up. It was embarrassing. And the key thing is he didn't get a point. We'd have beat them at Hampden if it wasn't for the ref. Which showed they weren't actually particularly good Edited by Airdrie76

Also looks like it'll be Neil Alexander coming in to be player/Coach. At 36 it wouldn't be overly inspiring to have him at first choice but if we managed to get him and say, the Falkirk keeper, i'd be quite happy at that. He's suppose to be a good talent for this level.

Must confess I know little to nothing on this Keating guy. Got goals last season though which is all good for me.

Levein was a shit national coach. Who cares? Scotlands players have also been shit for Levein and every manager for the past 20 years. Hearts and The Championship are not the same setup by a long shot. Levein has something to prove as well. I am optimistic.

Squad currently

Goalkeeper

Jack Hamilton

Defence

Danny Wilson

Brad McKay

Kevin McHattie

Callum Paterson

Jordan McGhee

Liam Gordon

Liam Smith

Midfield

Scott Robinson

Jamie Walker

Jason Holt

Sam Nicholson

David Smith

Angus Beith

Forward

Dale Carrick

Billy King

Gary Oliver

Robbie Buchanan

Guys in italic to date have been u20 players primarily. Quite a few of our "midfield"/"forward" can play either wide midfield or more of a striker/winger role.

Fairly solid rumours so far are Neil Alexander, Darren McGregor, James Keetings. Thing we are only 3/4 players away from being extremely competitive to add experience and a few more would make us a different standard from most of the rest in SPFL1

Except Brown, Smith, McLeish and Strachan (most of them).

Although that's largely irrelevant to us. More important is his record in the Scottish leagues, which is excellent. I don't recall many people complaining when he was awarded the Scotland job on this basis.
