topcat(The most tip top)
I don't mind an old pro with 86 ROI caps blocking the youngsters. But, F me. Whelan plus Damour plus Bozanich plus Haring - who all do roughly the same running-about-a-lot thing?I think the impatience with poor results is probably driving hearts to look for quick fixes ahead of longer term development.
D Angelo Barksdale
I'm incredibly jealous of the way Hearts are utilising their financial advantage tbh. I only wish we had the money to sign 3 or 4 sub standard jobbers for each position. We'll just have to make do with 2. I also expect to hear a better song book this year lads. Whelan rhymes with feeling and also sexual healing. Get busy.

To be fair, I think we've signed Whelan because Haring is crocked, and Bozanic isn't up to the job, or Levein can't get enough out of him. Happy enough with the signing of Whelan - great to see that people are losing their minds over it. Some quick research tells me he's been on the books at Hearts for a while now, just hadn't played Seems to me we're giving White a chance to get back into the game after a bad injury - hope he's able to get close to his best form again.

Tony Wonder
Whelan seems like a good signing. As have all our moves this summer. The issue is Levein clearly doesn't know how to get a tune from them.

He's a diving cheat - but he would provide more attacking urgency down the right in one game than Michael Smith will provide all season. No idea where he registers on the Staunchometer, but I'm sure you non-sectarian Celtic supporters will know precisely what Hutton's views are.

paranoid android
I'm going to start using the word staunch instead of hard/erect/moist, as in 'Michael Smith's long throws are making me staunch'.

And actually comes across as a half decent professional really. I also saw some Hearts fan on twitter wanting Lafferty and Cummings. That is possibly a thicker strike force than Riordan and O’Connor.

How about: oooh what a feeling when we're watching Glenn Whelan

NJ2
The reaction from villa fans re “whelo” has made me a bit happier with the signing. That nickname can f**k off though. Auld Glenn will do.
