Still going to be on the BioWare but trying to distance him from anything football related.
Hope Mikey Stewart has a back up for his “safest job in world fitba” routine...

Levein still has a job at Hearts so Stewart can still use that material until the end of the season

Took his fucking time. Just a shame you lot will probably get Jack Ross.

Not sure JR will return unless he has settled his differences after been sacked by the club when he was coach

The physio he was riding is still at the club, yes

Here is the statement in all it's slightly convoluted glory

My understanding is that Levein has been sacked as Manager and DoF but not sacked in this other job with the vague duties of assisting the executive team to improve the structure of the club

Craig Levein has today taken the decision to relieve Craig Levein of his first team managerial duties.

Craig would like to thank Craig for all of his efforts as first team manager. Craig has worked tirelessly and selflessly, around the clock, to try to achieve success, despite the many challenges with which he has been faced.

Craig will not return to his previous Director of Football role and, that being so, will step down from the Board. He will, however, see out his contract, which runs until the end of the season, working closely with the Executive Management Team in continuing to develop and improve the structure of the backroom and youth operations within the development. Craig is confident that his knowledge and experience will contribute massively to ensuring that, come the end of the season, he will leave the football department in a healthy and thriving state.

Effective immediately, Austin MacPhee will be in charge of first team affairs, on an interim basis, while Craig begins the process of recruiting a new manager. The new manager, and indeed the interim manager, will report directly to Craig.

Ann Budge is a lame duck at the moment

She's in charge in the short term but is going to be gone in the medium term when the Foundation makes the final payment in a few months time.

If things were just going badly as opposed to very badly then the change of ownership would be the natural time for a change of management but there clearly wasn't time for that.

Whomever is notionally hired by Budge will spend most of their contract working for FoH so the decision process is going to be complicated
