Sir Rod Stewart to bail out Scottish Football to thank his countrypeople for all their support over the years

The best way rod could help Scottish football is to feck off and never show his face here again.  He's now seen as a Scottish football celebrity.  Pathetic!

Came on here to praise Ann Budge for her early action around her clubs finances but I’ll let all the people who are jealous of Rod Stewart finish their discussion first.
Try to love again Dindy.

AB has got most things right during her tenure and two big things wrong - being too loyal to Levein beyond last summer and doing a major construction contract through a company that was too small. But she is 100% right on the players wages. A wee bit embarrassing that it came out the day before the government announced its furlough scheme, but that's minor. She will have 99% of the fans behind her.

She's got a bit of time. The SPFL have to make an announcement ahead of 30th April when the current pause ends. Pay day at HMFC is 1st May? When the SPFL inevitably announce no football until x, she can  then Furlough them all. 50% wages is starting to look overly generous for the high earners and will look more and more so as more clubs bite the bullet. In the meantime any player that wants to take the 50% option (and  that the club really want) can step forward and do so. The only downside will be that when things eventually restart, there will be a disgruntled group of high earners who had their belated request for 50% rejected and were stuck on the Furlough cap. Go Ann

Either way you're most likely fucked, if you are saved from relegation and get to play the rest of the season out you've just scunnered the players off to even try and keep you up, if the league gets reconstructed and no relegation happens, you've got a major rebuild with the players you have still holding a grudge at how quickly she shafted them, so not looking in good shape going into next season.

Not a happy place to work at i'd imagine.

The players can go f**k themselves with the power of 4,000 suns. Ann Budge has scunnered them? These workshy fucking mutants have ruined the support's lives for 2 and a half b*****d years, they can eat shite and like it.

I don't think they realise the effect they are having on fans attitude to the game at this time.  I can see attendances increase for amateur teams etc.  Not just players at our club, but what is happening elsewhere as well.  Spurs etc   f**k em all.  Seriously going off the game.  It just feels like a big money making sceme for players, bookies etc.   I'd start again with the youngsters and those who have shown some decorum at this time.   It doesn't help that they have been shite for ages now.  We have only beaten 3 teams in the league this season and these selfish fucks are only thinking of themselves.  The game in general will suffer because of this

But did they tickle the balls of doom?

We kicked the balls of doom up the arse by setting up foh to save the club and help it move forward.   Next season and all it brings can come ahead...  as long as it's not with most of the players that are there now.

How the f**k has Budge 'Shafted' them?  50% for a lot will likely be a lot higher than the 80% the government will offer.  This isn't an issue created by her, she's trying to be proactive.  She could offer deferrals, but if we go down, thanks to those players, an absolutely massive part of our income will go to reimbursing them.  Why should footballers get 100% of their wages when not doing any work when most other people would either be laid off or put on furlough?

One admin, pffft, admin novices still.

In terms of having a fighting spirit to stay up I think you are, and if the Uefa threat of no CL or Europa places for anyone finishing the league early stops the SPFL from contemplating that option, then we could be looking at their plan for July-Aug to get the league finished. There would have to be a hold on the transfer window opening up, and an extension to current contracts till the end of Aug though, to ensure sporting integrity is upheld, and clubs are having to play with the same squads they had before the football shutdown. Which would mean Hearts are left with disgruntled players already on low morale, in a relegation battle.

Although Spurs lacked moral decency in sticking all their non playing staff on furlough while keeping their players on full wages, they've kept the product on the pitch happy, something Budge wont have done at Hearts with the way she has handled this so badly.
