ScotlandGer Posted August 17, 2014 Share Posted August 17, 2014 I've probably completed The Last of Us about 6 or 7 times now as I got into a bit of a loop in playing through Game+ and increased difficulties. I got completely stuck on Grounded difficulty and picked up a couple of new games to try and wean myself away from The Last of Us. I picked up Minecraft and Dead Island for PS3 Minecraft is pretty addictive. My first attempt at Survivor was to build a pretty neat castle, but I started mining underneath the castle not realising that the monsters etc. basically have free entry into my house that way. My next go at Survivor is my current Save and I've got a solid castle with solid foundation and I've got a few deep mines on the go. I'm still working on a strategy to craft new items and store things etc. Otherwise, really enjoying it, and it's great fun to mine new resources and craft new items. I'm currently flattening a big hill behind my castle to try and build a farm. The only downside is that I thought you be in a world with other players online, but I've not met any other players (yet), but I'm probably doing it wrong in the options screen or whatnot. I'm also planning to try the creative mode and build a few replicas of football grounds. I'm probably going to get stuck into Dead Island tonight. I'm not a big fan of horror games, but love zombie movies so looking forward to Dead Island. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
P.C Posted August 20, 2014 Share Posted August 20, 2014 Been playing dishonoured since it was a free download. Glad I didn't buy it at full price solid 6/10 game but nothing too exciting 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
~~~ Posted August 20, 2014 Share Posted August 20, 2014 I got out the PS2 the other day, started playing Final Fantasy 7 again. The graphics haven't aged very well, but the game play is still outstanding 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Sherrif John Bunnell Posted August 21, 2014 Share Posted August 21, 2014 I bought Threes for Android when I had a few hours to kill at the airport a few weeks back. It's a deceivingly simple number puzzle game, but it's more addictive than crack. It's £1.17 on the Google store, but there are no adverts or micro transactions to contend with. There are plenty of free clones kicking about on the store as well, 2048 being the best one apparently. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Johnny van Axeldongen Posted August 31, 2014 Share Posted August 31, 2014 Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare. Shits all over the latest CoD, Battlefield, and the over-hyped Titanfall. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Chupacabra Posted September 4, 2014 Share Posted September 4, 2014 Just completed To the Moon and so I'm typing this through the tears. Some of it was predictable, some of it was boring, but there were parts that were simply magical. Glorious soundtrack. Only cost me £1.20 in a humble bundle deal so at that price no one has an excuse not to play it. 8/10 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
BFTD Posted December 19, 2014 Share Posted December 19, 2014 Recently finished X-COM: Enemy Within, which was a nice addition to a fine game, but probably a little steep at the RRP of £20. Followed that up with a replay of Duke Nukem Forever for some reason. Utter garbage compared to Duke Nukem 3D, obviously, but worth picking up for a fiver if you like bad games. So many mystifyingly poor design decisions. Made a quick run-through of Zombie Shooter this morning. Old-school 2D graphics, terrible AI, awful collision detection, dreadful English translation...yet it's absolutely cracking stuff if you're in the mood to mow down thousands of mutant zombies. Unparalleled levels of slaughter. Ludicrous at the Steam store price of £10.99, but it's a must-buy when it's reduced to a couple of quid. Often shows up as part of the various bundles that turn up online too. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
19QOS19 Posted December 19, 2014 Author Share Posted December 19, 2014 Escape Plan This was a freebie on PS Plus a couple of months ago. Finally got around to playing it and was extremely impressed. It's a 2D problem solving game and it really passes the time. To describe it in one word would be "Fun". Not the longest game in the world, but I see there are add ons at a couple of quid so I'll probably have a go at those. It does have a good bit of replay value though. Definitely worth a go for the price of it (I'm sure it's around £15 pound for the game and add ons). For a game in this genre, I'd give it a solid 8/10 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
BFTD Posted December 20, 2014 Share Posted December 20, 2014 Sick as a dog, so have regressed back to childhood since dragging myself out of bed at 4:30pm. The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition. Cracking swashbuckling comedy adventure, remastered for modern audiences and with a superb on-the-fly switching mode that lets you morph every scene into a perfect emulation of the original. Brilliant stuff, and will no doubt be on sale over the holiday, along with the Monkey Island 2 Special Edition. Need to play through The Curse of Monkey Island again sometime too, as I remember it being good as well. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
BFTD Posted December 31, 2014 Share Posted December 31, 2014 Black Tiger - classic platformer from the days of yore. Still holds up pretty well. Pit-Fighter - still a good laugh on MAME. Never been big on fighting games, but this one's satisfying in an '80s bad movie way. Football Manager 2013 - haven't bought the more recent ones because I realised that I ended up not playing most of them. Usually takes a couple of years to get bored of my pet saved game. Fallout: New Vegas - it's taken years, but I think I've finally explored the shit out of Fallout 3. Time to try this modern whippersnapper out 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Ebanda's Handyman Services Posted January 1, 2015 Share Posted January 1, 2015 NHL15 - Brilliant! Really satisfying when you wipe someone out or nick the puck away from a player winding up a shot. Exciting games the majority of the time with power play domination, post/bar strikes and the inevitable hopeful slapshots at goal when the clock is winding down to try and salvage a win or some OT. Trials Fusion - Not a game I would have ever bought but my wee boy got it for his Christmas. Great fun as well. Looking forward to the 8 player online races that are apparently in the pipeline. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Mark Connolly Posted January 1, 2015 Share Posted January 1, 2015 LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham: Got this because I had Marvel Super Heroes and loved it. Not quite as good as MSH, but pretty entertaining. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
BFTD Posted January 27, 2015 Share Posted January 27, 2015 Shannon Tweed's! Attack of the Groupies HD - saw this for about 29p during the Steam Christmas sale; how could you say no? Shannon Tweed was a former "companion" of Hugh Hefner and straight-to-video softcore porn starlet of the Eighties, whose main claim to fame these days is as Mrs Gene Simmons, the Kiss bass player and notorious lothario. The game's a basic Plants vs Zombies clone, and does the job acceptably for those hankering for a PvZ substitute, but seems remarkably easy and devoid of any gameplay variety. The real entertainment comes from the total lack of self-awareness from Mrs Tweed-Simmons. The story (as such) is that our gal has to station herself outside of her husband's gigs in order to prevent an army of groupies from humping her husband (who is clearly defenceless, poor dear). She spends most of the game throwing tired zingers at groupies in general despite the fact that she used to be one herself! Your reward for clearing levels is the unlocking of snapshot photo albums of the Tweed-Simmons family; not nude pictures of her Tweediness back in her Playboy days, or stage shots of Kiss, but the kind of boring snaps we all have of our families, kids and all. There's something dreadfully creepy about the idea that somebody might actually want to see these, but it comes across as a "screw you!" to all of the slappers that Gene has been unfaithful with over the course of their relationship; you may have stolen his essence for the night, but look at my glamorous life and beautiful family! Anyway, it's worth having for 29p if you see it at that price again, although be warned that there's no Kiss music featured in the game. Apparently some people were disappointed with that. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Kujabi_Kujabyou Posted February 3, 2015 Share Posted February 3, 2015 Got my Ps2 out the other day, found The Warriors, Final Fantasy 8,10 and 12, LMA Manager 02 & 03. Some amazing memories there . Just seen my Tottenham team from 02 with Henry, Stam, Kahn, fat Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Roberto Carlos, Cafu, Beckham, Van Nistelrooy, Zidane, Raul. Ahhhh what a dream team. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
mizfit Posted February 3, 2015 Share Posted February 3, 2015 I've still got my PS2, but the only games I have are fifa 08 & GTA San Andreas which has aged terribly. Thinking about trying to pick up the crash bandicoot and rachet & clank series to fiddle about in. Loved those games as a child 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
