is this not the 3rd summer in a row we have announced the appointment of a commercial manager and each time so far nothng whatsoever has changed

Don't think we have had one since they paid off all the administration staff many moons ago. Hugh Cameron was the commercial director and then the last year or two it's been down to volunteers. But both of these ways, the guys could only commit so much time. Hopefully if this guy is fulltime then the club should benefit. They should be able to double the amount of sponsors etc.

Graeme has a lot if passion for Ayr United, it's brilliant that we have someone in there now that has the fans interests at heart!

This cannot be argued. However sometimes he can be a bit blinkered.

No doubt he will think it's the best appointment ever, and if it doesn't work out it will be the fans' fault. After a while, once he brings in his first modest contract, expect a rambling late night post raising a glass of wine to the Commercial Department.

Not sure if he has any experience in this area. Perhaps Lachlan's tastes have simply changed*

*this is a humorous post referencing back to previous controversy, and not to be taken seriously.

I don't think going back to previous players is a way forward. These guys are older and dropped out senior for a reason. Thought Kean and Robertson played well yesterday but it was against 10 man Glenafftheirheids! A find like Dale Hilson that was at Forfar on loan would be good, He played over 100 games for on loan. We have had so many failures in that time. McKay and Reynolds are two for example.

Hilson has been released by Dundee United, apparently. Wonder what level he'll end up at.

Forfar probably. Kind of jealous of the geographical location of Forfar, Brechin and Arbroath. Surely they'll get first dibs on any of the Dundee based youth players, especially those newly released or looking for game time on loan.

Well according to the Post Lithgow is now signing for Stenhousemuir and Shankland is expected to be pushing for a 1st team place this season.

Marko really has no idea what he's doing although Shankland deserves a chance.

It is that Greame Miller who is the new commercial manager as well.

FFS. I was starting to think slightly more positively about next season, but nope, it is going to be depressingly shit isn't it?

As much as I'd love that to be true, I think we'll be his last resort currently. He's linked with a few Championship clubs, especially Falkirk and Livingston.
